I like manga a lot, but if we're talking book-books, then I like sci-fi and thrillers.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

I like horror and dystopian!

message 35: by Imtryan153 (new)

Imtryan153 Ooh, I forgot about dystopias! They're good.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

:)

message 37: by Imtryan153 (new)

Imtryan153 But I don't read horror because scary stuff is scary. It took me forever to read Ms. Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children because of the pictures. *shiver*

Kira, Star, Vicky (take your pick) . (aestheticdaydream) | 26 comments oooo i love horror too
STephen king is pretty good
and ive read others but i dont remebr the authors lol
ive read a few dystopians
The Hunger Games and Divergent count for dystopian right?

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep to that last part!

message 40: by Imtryan153 (new)

Imtryan153 I love Stephen King too, but I've only read a few of his. The Stand is my favorite.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Dystopian is literally almost the only thing I read. THG and Divergent do count as dystopia. THey are the totalitarian branch of dystopia.

Kira, Star, Vicky (take your pick) . (aestheticdaydream) | 26 comments alright
any suggestions for dystopian books to read?

message 43: by Imtryan153 (new)

Imtryan153 I liked The Giver, but another one I've seen is Truesight

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

@Starwisher, Sure! I have tons. The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau, Dove Arising by Karen Bao, Matched by Allie Condie, The Maze Runner by James Dashner, The Giver by Lois Lowry, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, 1984 and Animal Farm by George Orwell, Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. If you browse the dystopian section of genres on GR you'll find like +2000 titles. :)

Kira, Star, Vicky (take your pick) . (aestheticdaydream) | 26 comments alright i'll give read it sometime lol
i have yet to read "The Stand" my mom loves that book. My fav is "Misery" and "The Outsider". they are slightly gory but AMAZING!!!!!

message 46: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 09, 2020 09:09AM) (new)

I heard the book is way more violent than the movie.
And Misery the movie was pretty violent!

Kira, Star, Vicky (take your pick) . (aestheticdaydream) | 26 comments Haven't seen the movie yet
but yeah the book is uhm.. frighteningly descriptive. I got chills reading some chapters. It was the first book I read by him and that book hooked me into reading more of his stuff. I'm re-reading "The Shining". I'm gonna get the second part to it soon

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Nice! About that last part.

Kira, Star, Vicky (take your pick) . (aestheticdaydream) | 26 comments Thanks Rachael, i've read "Red Queen" i'm towards the ending on Glass Sword atm

I hate filler scenes like that!
Just get to the point!
