I'll give it a look at today. I need to post Chapter 8 as well.

Chapter 9: https://www.coursera.org/learn/write-...

Thank you so much for your feedback. I'll definitely take it all into consideration in the re-write.
Thank you

Just reviewed your chapter 8. Good work.

Thank you

Eleanor I'll trade you reads. I've made some changes based off feedback and could always use another review. Let me know if you're interested.

I'm happy to swap reads with anyone in the group, for sure. Daniel's idea about doing it over Christmas when most of us have some more free time is nice, but I could start (slowly) reading anyone's now if they'd like.
Also, thanks, everyone, for the Coursera feedback on my last couple of chapters. And I've just submitted CHAPTER 11: https://www.coursera.org/learn/write-...

I'd love some feedback on chapters 12 and 13. Thank you.

Hi Michael. Thank you for the feedback on my chapter 13. I love your idea about making more of the randy old boy. Sometimes I write something I think is amusing but then a worry that my sense of humour is too odd and that maybe other people just think it's dumb. But now I have a whole scene in my head that I definitely want to add in when I rewrite. Thank you!
(And, yes, I'm trying not to fall into Jar Jar Binks territory. I'm aware it's a danger!)

Eleanor, never worry about cutting out a joke you think is funny. If you laugh at it, put it in. I myself have an odd sense of humor, so odd nobody gets my jokes. But I get more satisfaction when someone appreciates the warped stuff I throw in thinking no one will get. You make a real connection with the reader when you say, "Ah, I see you're just as strange as me."

Haha. I didn't hate him with a passion like some people did, but I did think he was very annoying and out of place in the story.

Yes! You're absolutely right. I think I'll experiment a bit in the next chapters and in the rewrite.

Just reviewed it. Good job!

I just table read your story. I can zoom with you if you want. Good story. I understand. I couldn't get anyone to table read my work as well.

Hi. I fell behind over Christmas. I'm just posting chap 15 today.
Chapter 15: https://www.coursera.org/learn/write-...

Hello Rachel. Thank you for reading it. I'd love to know what you thought. Doing a Zoom at the moment would be difficult. I'm up to my eyes in lesson planning for the new school semester and my deadline is looming. I'm just here now procrastinating, but I'd better get back to it.
I'm hoping I have a bit of time soon. I'll catch up with your chapters then we can swap notes if you'd like.

That would be great. I'll send you a PM.

I was finally able to end my book on chapter 24.

Hi. Thanks! My original plan had the story ending at chapter 20, but then I added some other details and the subplot with the old aunt, so now I'm not even sure HOW it ends, never mind WHEN. They were supposed to have a frantic dash around the ship in the last 2 chapters, and then it would finish with them safely on their way back to Earth. But now I don't even know if I'm sending them back! I guess I'm about 1 chapter behind my original breakdown, so I'll probably need to write a chapter 21 (at least).
