Welcome to the Winter Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on October 31st and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each day we will be reading by chapters or page numbers. Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

I have to relisten to the ending of cress today bc I remember nothing nothingggg lmao

The most that happened in the last moments of Cress is that they successfully kidnapped Kai and then after Cinder and Kai talked it out, they realized that Levana started her attack :D

I am now currently at 18% a bit more than is required for the day but i couldn't help itttt. I missed them so much!

I forgot to tell you when we were reading Cress that I only realized how much I actually like and appreciate Kai was when they kidnapped him and I saw him interacting with the crew other than cinder? Idk what it is about these people but even the ones I only mildly like as individuals, as soon as I see them interacting with the Rampion group, my love for them increases. Like I'm not a fan of Jacin on his own? But as soon as he's being his grumpy sarcastic self with cinder (in cress), he's the funniest 😂

I also appreciate the budding bromance between Kai and Thorne. That little heart to heart moment they had when Thorne was bringing him back to earth brought me back to life and I had completely forgotten that it happened. I literally read this so fast the first time I read it that I forget these details and now it feels like i'm reading it for the first time.

Also I hope Winter makes you laugh too cause I found her so unintentionally funny when I read this lmao. Her and Scarlet's interactions were the best.

Finished chapter 13, and now I'm going to sleep.

So... I don't care much about Winter and Jacin, but I'm living for the moments that have Cress and Throne :D

I said it a few times, and I'll say it once again. This series is so freaking easy to read, I mean I'm at half of the book.

I like that we have the whole revolution thing because action, I like the characters but as you already know I'm not obsessed with them, well minus Cress and Throne and I just can't wait for their reunion. And I love Cinder and Throne's relationship even though there's less of the banter than in the previous books.

I finished it and I know you have too so I'm not gonna put this in a spoiler tag lol.

Thoughts overall:
- So just like the first time I read this, I didn't really care about the Jacin and Winter love story? I'm not really into the whole princess/guard thing anyway so this was to be expected. It was a miracle I even liked Poppy/Hawke from blood and ash.

- also I had no complaints about the ending the first time but this time it fell a little short? Like I remember being so blown away but i think maybe my brain was way too divided in the 2nd half of this reread. Cause I was listening while working and it just felt different to me. idk what the deal is lol

- I am still such CRESSWELL and CINDER/THORNE BROMANCE trash. Freaking adorable.

- i fucking hate how audrey is gonna get money from the patent. I am actually so upset. If only Levana had gone ahead and killed her and her daughter before she died.... ugh

Yeah, after the previous book this feels like a letdown, the whole revolution was interesting but I wasn't loving it. The highlight are Cresswell and the bromance.
