The Agartes Epilogues Complete Trilogy by K.S. Villoso is a wonderful multi-POV epic fantasy trilogy that spans across various kingdoms and empires in a really well-built fantasy world. I loved the world-building because it seems so real and at the same time has some great fantastic elements including different magic uses in different countries, some creepy monsters, etc. It's also excellent because the stakes are very personal for the characters.

The Eagle's Flight: The Chronicles of Adalmearc by Daniel E. Olesen is another amazing epic fantasy series that has excellent world-building and gave me a Tolkien-ish vibe. There are knights, battles, political conflicts and maneuvers and some excellent characterizations.

I found about this book recently from a recommendation by Calvin Park of Under a Pile of Books. Between the Shade and the Shadow by Coleman Alexander is very unique! I loved the non-human character and the attention that was taken to develop every detail of her life and the way she discovered the world around her and learned how to use her magic. There's also a very well-written relationship between her and her shadow Losna.

I read Heartscale by Lola Ford a little while ago and would highly recommend it for those who like dragon stories. It's good a good character focus, great world-building, and the way the dragons are integrated in the world is great.

Joanna White | 6 comments One of the tropes I literally cannot resist reading is about characters with a haunted past - those books are so addicting for me and I found a book sale all about characters with haunted pasts, so I had to share: https://books.bookfunnel.com/hauntedp...
