I'm not quite halfway through. it's taking all kinds of unexpected twists! I am curious to see how Eva and Rolf connect.

I'm about a quarter of the way through. I'm still in Eva's childhood, but I am enjoying the book so far. I wonder if the South American country that the characters live in is real or fictional?

I read elsewhere that it's a fictional mix of countries, but Allende got the idea from a friend in Venezuela on whom Eva Luna is kind of based.

Finished it last night, what an epic story!
