I recently read and enjoyed "Wild". It is multi-faceted. Strange family story followed by the Pacific Trail treck.I enjoyed the book.

I finished "Wild" a couple of days ago. Early in the book, I actively disliked Cheryl. I thought she was a whiny dirtbag with poor coping skills. As I read on, I found myself liking her more and more and liking the book more and more. The end even made me cry, just a tear or two.
I felt the same way about Strayed, but never did get to the point of liking her. I had hope for more of an epiphany by her as the trek on the trail came to a close. I felt once again the book got more press and hype than it deserved.
