Reader's Choice is always my last posted. A book I liked that didn't fit anywhere else. There are always many to choose from!

Thanks, Bob. I am waiting a bit longer to commit. There are so many books to be read!

message 8: by Annette (new)

Annette | 638 comments I pencilled in a few books on my 2021 Bingo today. Leaving some TBD.

Your reads are so highbrow. Good luck. Maybe I will some day be able to enjoy what you enjoy, but I have made my peace in remaining a philistine.

Kathleen | 5538 comments These look great, Annette. I loved both your Booker choices, and The Lottery is not to be missed. Enjoy your reading!

You seem to make excellent progress, Annette.

message 15: by Annette (new)

Annette | 638 comments Thanks, everyone! It's a bit like scaling a mountain (lol)... one step/page at a time up the Mt TBR.

message 16: by Terry (new)

Terry | 2548 comments Annette, you are a mountain climber, for sure!

message 17: by Annette (new)

Annette | 638 comments Only 4 books left for a blackout. One is Reader's Choice so I've got that covered but I always save it for last.

Yep -- but feeling the pressure of my other challenges.

message 20: by Terry (new)

Terry | 2548 comments Remains of the Day is very good. You can always change your mind about your choices, though. This should be fun — no pressure. You are so close!

Annette | 638 comments Terry wrote: "Remains of the Day is very good. You can always change your mind about your choices, though. This should be fun — no pressure. You are so close!"

Thanks, Terry. I have a copy of The Remains of the Day on my physical shelf so I'll give it a shot.

I just finished Remains of the Day, Terry! Thanks for the nudge in that direction. It was great! It was my last book for a Blackout Bingo except for the Reader's Choice which I am saving for when I finish [book:In a Dark Wood Wandering: A Novel of the Middle Ages|123091] which won't link :(

What a coincidence! I just finished my entry on Day 10 of the 30 Day Challenge where I choseThe Remains of the Day as my favorite classic book! Congratulations on your progress and I agree that this is a wonderful book.

I keep seeing The Blue Castle on threads. Perhaps that should be what I read next.

Thanks, Lynn.

I loved Anne of Green Gables as a girl. My parents even took the family to Prince Edward Island because of it. My hometown library was very small so I am now just reading other works by her like Emily of the New Moon. The Blue Castle was my first adult LM Montgomery read.

message 25: by Annette (new)

Annette | 638 comments And done! Last book I enter is my "Reader's Choice". As usual it was one of my favorite reads this year: In a Dark Wood Wandering: A Novel of the Middle Ages

message 26: by Lori (new)

Lori Keeton | 1510 comments Congratulations, Annette! What a wonderful accomplishment! Great way to finish with a favorite!

message 27: by Luke (new)

Luke (korrick) Congrats, Annette! I've heard good things about that Reader's Choice work of yours over the last few years, and what with my ever present interest in women in translation, I may have to snag it next time I see a copy.

Bravo, Annette! I have your Reader's Choice on my TBR, so I will bump it up to short-list status.

Annette | 638 comments Thanks, everyone!

I definitely do not want to discourage anyone but I found that In a Dark Wood Wandering: A Novel of the Middle Ages required slower reading. I saw similar comments in the reviews. And as an added note: I read it on hoopla.
