I read this last month, because I was concerned that my library (in Georgia) would close again for another (!) vote recount. I will wait until others start commenting to add my own thoughts.
I thought this book was ok. I really didn't feel like I cared about any of the characters, though. Maybe this is a book that mainly children can relate to, and not so much for adults? I really had no interests in common with the little boy, Lewis, so maybe that's why the story didn't hold my interest. I know there's a recent film of this book, but I haven't seen it, so I don't know how it compares to the book.
Yeah, this was not my thing at all. I really like a lot of the children's books we read in December, but this was a miss for me. I wasn't particularly interested in the story or characters and was disappointed by a writing stye that just did not bring me in.
