I'd love to read American Sonnets for My Past and Future Assassin, especially with others since I'm still wrapping my head around poetry after spending a long time avoiding it. I'll suggest it in the Buddy Reads Planning thread. Thanks!


Trethewey, a former U.S. Poet Laureate, is being honored for her lifetime of work. Her most recent collection is “Monument: Poems New and Selected”. Her new book, a memoir called “Memorial Drive,” is one of The Washington Post’s top 10 books for 2020.
