I think my reading will slow down now I have started studying again. I have gone to university.

Wow, I can’t get over how much you are reading Alannah, especially while you’re studying and working too. Please let me know your secret, haha.

I just make sure I set aside enough time at night time, at least half an hour. I definitely think it helps me sleep at night too. I haven’t really been reading the past few nights and I know my sleep hasn’t been that great, it’s more because I can’t seem to concentrate on reading. This lockdown has messed my sleeping schedule up so much working from home but I also find that because I am so used to the noise in the office, I usually have an audiobook on, I found that really helpful when I first started working from home over the summer, and when I went back in for a while before Christmas, a lot of people still had the option to work from home, including my manager so it was very quiet. I just kept listening to audiobooks, I’m not one for listening to music but when I do, I get too distracted easily, for some reason with audiobooks, I stay a bit more focused. I also take public transport so I manage to read a lot there, however that’s mainly audiobooks too.

Interesting, I need to take that advice on board, I don’t work in an office, I work in non essential retail so I’ve been in and out of work since March last year, even when the shops opened back up, I wasn’t getting as many hours so I have no excuse not to make up time. Being out of work has got me back into education and I’m loving the time off to get me stuck into studying, even if it’s just part time.

That’s what got me to go back in studying as well, I have been loving the extra free time to study as well, it’s going to be so weird if we ever get back to normality but I have to say, I’m enjoying the extra free time I have by not having to travel to work everyday, I can get up later in the morning.

So far, I think my goal will be 100 books.
