AℳY♔Queen of Fat cats♔Ain't no lie Baby Byebyebye (emyoverland) | 183 comments WTF IS THIS?????

WTF

You see what I see, multiple accounts, posting the same rating, the same 4 stars review for a book that deserves at least 10 STARS.
So
NOT
COOL
And someone from inside Goodreads messing up with the default edition during romance week. More on part 1 of this post.

Indie authors in polls for our souls...BEWARE, Goodreads staff cleans up trolls only for traditional published authors, and some of the every changing staff might be too friendly to agents...A.K.A. people who don't like indies cuz they don't share 15% of publishing royalties and keep all the dough to themselves.

I'm so so angry that my favorite author is always targeted. If you are my friend and have wondered why I keep recommending this book... that's the reason!!! My favorite book and author don't get the respect they deserve from goodreads. I, as a fan and long time contributor, feel highly disrespected.
*glares at agents messing up with Goodreads ratings*
Edit
I never said that the staff were behind the spam accounts, just that they only clean up for famous books from famous authors from famous publishers. Not cool.

Good catch, Amy. It's definitely the kind of activity that shouldn't be allowed.

That said, I did a little bit of research, and concluded that, although these accounts were created just last month, none of them are specifically targeting indie authors. If you take a look at my screenshots, these spammers are posting the same review for thousands of different titles, coming from all kind of publishers.

I also want to point out, that even though this affects the average rating of multiple books, Making faces and Amy Harmon specifically, might not get affected. Unlike, the change of default edition back in February, I can't find anything that makes me think someone from the staff is behind the accounts.

I can't deny that I have seen influence of literary agencies in Goodreads, but this is not one of these cases. This, in my opinion, is just another way to remind everybody that the average rating of any book isn't trustworthy. It's always better to read a sample of the book and disregard ratings.
