Awesome, thanks!

Marie-thérèse Faidherbe | 30 comments Well, I am in advance for this one.
I just finished "Unholy Ghosts" by Richard Zimler.
Richard is Jew, American and lives in Portugal for already 30 years with his husband, a celebrated portuguese scientist.
This novel was recently translated to portuguese, after 25 years, because 25 years ago "the portuguese public was not prepared".
Richard is one of my favorite authors, I read all his books in the original language (English) , and I know him personnally. I have all his books signed by him except this one that I got during the pandemic.
This Sunday, I'll go to his autograph session at the Lisbon Book Fair to have it signed, so I had to read the book before (I was keeping it for October)
It is quite strong if you are not used to it, but extremely well writen, happening in Portugal, Spain and Paris. If you don't know what to read, go for it.

I'm giving This Is How You Lose the Time War another go, and for whatever reason, I'm really enjoying it this time.

I've also started on a short textbook on the Stonewall Riots. I know only the very basic facts of this subject, so I'm looking forward to having a better understanding of how this has shaped the fight for gay rights.

Dawn Lofink | 40 comments Ok...not sure how much reading lengthy book catalogues for this topic means, but I found an interesting read here:

going to stick with this format of information.

Jacqie | 93 comments I read an October horror novel in which the central characters were two gay men in a relationship. It's a slow burn but very creepy! "Echo" by Thomas Olde Heuvelt. I got an advance copy; I think the book comes out in February?

I didn't finish This Is How You Lose the Time War in October, but I'm planning to count it as a novella for November. Last month I read The Stonewall Riots: The Fight for LGBT Rights. Tjhis was geared for a young audience, but as I had only the most basic idea of what the Stonewall riots were, it was a really good read for me.

You will definitely want to be strategic in when you read so you don't lie awake at night.

Cheryl (6of8) | 193 comments I started one in October but have only finished it this morning.

In a Family Way, involving a custody dispute that erupts when a gay man donates sperm to a lesbian couple and the birth mother of the child dies. The biological father and the partner of the birth mother get in a custody dispute (this is set in 1990s, so no legal precedent then) which also includes two homophobic sets of grandparents who do not want either of the contested parties to raise the child. Lots of distressing family stuff.
