Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin | 2262 comments Lol, I should have copied and pasted from the other group read 🤣😂. I hope y’all enjoy! I loved it 😉

Michael J. (michaeljclarke) | 642 comments I just finished this last week. I believe it's the best from Riley Sager so far! Looking forward to participating in the discussions.

Scott Neumann (scottneumann) | 491 comments I read this back in the summer and loved it. I gave it 5 stars, my first book by Riley Sager and soon after read his other three books and hope to read 'Things Half in Shadow' a book he wrote under the pseudonym Alan Finn.

Justin Chen | 12 comments I gave Riley Sager a good try (read 3 of his novels: The Last Time I Lied, Lock Every Door, Home Before Dark) and decided he's not an author for me.

I LOVE his premises and setups, but the subsequent execution always falls apart for me (too many plot holes and the most interesting aspect often turn out to be just red herring).

Still, I look forward to see everyone's thoughts!

I'll be up for this one in January since I already have the book.

Sarah-Grace (Azrael865) (sarah-grace) | 185 comments I put a hold on a library copy, if it comes through in time I will join in. If not I will read it late. current wait time says 4 weeks. It will be a close thing....unless some one else in line ahead gets done quickly.

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I’ll give this a go! I don’t think I’ve read this author yet.

After not being overly impressed with his debut novel, I've devoured all of his subsequent ones this year. He got soooo much better after Final Girls.

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments That’s good to hear!

This was the first I'd read of his. :)

Pixelina | 64 comments First time something i nominated won!! And I am hesitating if i should listen to it or pick up the kindle book. This will be my first Sager and I am excited!

I guess whether to listen to the audio book depends on the narrator. I read LOCK EVERY DOOR, enjoyed it immensely, and then listened to the audio book with my wife during a long road trip. I do not recall who the narrator was, but she did a first-rate job. I gained new appreciation for Sager, as did my wife.
After looking over my reply, I guess my best endorsement is to do both. Read it first, then check out the audiobook.

I listened to Home Before Dark and the narrators are both excellent.

Megan (meganphyre) | 40 comments Ahh this one looks good too. the choices aren't cheap this month but they sound great... looks like ill be 22$ poorer!

My library has them available in 5 and 9 weeks so if I want join I have to buy! sounds like it'll be worth it at least!

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments I’m on a wait list too. But luckily I have audible credits if it doesn’t come in on time.

Ah I do too, not a bad idea. I prefer reading, but it would be better to only purchase one of them, and I think The Hollow Places is my first choice for that. Thanks for the idea!

Maria U. Smith (mysjkin) | 5 comments It’s been a while since I joined a group read, but this one I was drawn to immediately. I haven’t read anything by Riley Sager before.

Latasha (latasha513) | 11983 comments This will be the first thing I’ve read by him too.

Rebeka Schwarz (rebekaschwarz) I'm new to Riley Sager too and this book sounds excellent! I'm looking forward to it.

Jason | 486 comments My first Riley Sager as well

Kimberly (kimberly_3238) | 7707 comments This was my first book by him!! Just read it a few months ago.

Laura | 71 comments My first by this author also! I finished it last night....I really enjoyed it!

sonya marie madden | 926 comments I'm listening to this as an audiobook. Very good!

message 38: by Megan (new)

Megan (meganphyre) | 40 comments This will be my first from Riley Eager as wel, and I'm always looking for good horror authors I haven't read before. I'm more drawn to The Hollow Places, after I read that, ill dive in to this one. For those of you that haven't already looked into it, I recommend reading Criterium in the guest author group read. Its short and reads quick, but its a good one!

message 39: by Feli (new) - rated it 4 stars

Feli (felifirefly) | 516 comments Hi all!
I just started this book yesterday. It's very good so far (just 10% in). It's my first Sager book, too. I wanted to read it for a while and got the Kindle version for 0,99 cents so that was a deal.
Can't wait to discuss it.

sonya marie madden | 926 comments I finished two days ago. Very good

Sarah-Grace (Azrael865) (sarah-grace) | 185 comments just finished it at 1:30am. It turned out to be one of those "I am almost there and need to finish." Very enjoyable and I liked the formatting of the chapters. Revealing just a little bit at a time.

message 43: by Jen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jen I've read all the Riley Sager books and he's becoming one of my favorite authors. I read this one last summer but I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone thinks.

Vanessa | 57 comments I read this when it came out. I think I would have liked this more if I hadn't read everything he has written. I always love the ideas he comes up with for his books, but I feel like he always goes in a safe and predictable direction with them. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. I don't expect that I'll ever really dislike something he writes, but I want him to do something a little more unusual and unexpected.

I'm about 175 pages in and I'm dying to know what is going on. It's all I can do not to skip to the end and take a peak... Don't worry, I'll be good. :)
