What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this series at some point between 2009 and 2013. I remember it being fairly popular at the time. It was very different to other children's books, very sharp and witty. I particularly remember one character called 'Old Granny/Grandma', who had been called that since she was a girl. I feel like the title had something to do with a town, which the series took place in. There were many books in the series, and the title, if I remember correctly, was long and sounded extravagant and wacky.

It's about suspicious goings-on in the (fictional) small town of Lamonic Bibber. You're a Bad Man, Mr Gum!: Mr Gum Series, Book 1 - is first in series.

Yeah, That's it. I guess I misremembered some aspects, but that's it
