I personally don't love her writing style or any of her books, but I know they're pretty popular. I've only read two, and I didn't like either. They almost felt like carbon copies of each other.
Sarah wrote: "Well technically all the books do relate to eacjother"Yeah, I do know that, but I thought her characters were just... shallow? And Clockwork Angel was sooo similar to City of Bones.
I still didn’t read the infernal devices but I did read the mortal instruments so I guess I don’t know yet.
Yeah just the fetishizing incest and the Harry Potter (Ginny and Ron romance) fanfiction was too much for me. Not too much to stop reading her books, but I don't feel comfortable worshipping her, ygm?
Her books are really good. I gotta say that. Her books are my favorite but she is not my favorite author.
I literally JUST bought Clockwork Angel (I don't know why i did though... read on for my explanation)So I read the first five books of the Mortal Instruments and half of the sixth one. That was like a month ago or something. Now, I want to read the rest of the Cassandra Clare books but I feel like I need to finish the Mortal Instruments series first. (let's be honest, i only bought Clockwork Angel cus it was on sale) Now I feel like I need to start the whole series again to read the last half of City of Heavenly Fire before starting the Infernal Devices. I don't know what to do with my life and sorry if this doesn't make any sense at all cus at this point I'm just rambling on and on.
I have noticed her first books aren't that good. City of Bones was mediocre. Clockwork Angel was worse.
But if you keep reading, these series are actually fun!
Especially the Infernal Devices. While the first book was a 2.5 star read for me, I ended up giving 5 stars to the last one.
My friend did NOT just say that she thought the incest plotline in COB-COG “wasn’t that bad” 💀💀Like WTF IT WAS DISGUSTING
cassandra clare is my all time favourite author, and i love all her books, but i do understand why other people don't like her works
I like her books, but her Ron X Ginny ff made me uncomfortable and I don't know much about her outside of her writings, so I don't have an opinion of her as a person

Someone asked if she shipped Damon and Elena or Stefan and Elena and she said "Damon/Stefan" and they are literal brothers???????
I have an opinion on her as a person, judging on what I learned from several sources. On her books though, I don't have any opinion on them as I haven't read them yet but I have heard about a lot of dark stuff around the history of her books so I doubt I'll read them with an open mind. I highly doubt they'll become a favorite but we'll see.
I personally like the plots in general but I find her characters (especially the females) so bland and basic.Especially with TMI, I feel like the only characters I like are Alec and Magnus AND THEY DON'T EVEN GET ENOUGH ATTENTION!!
I've only read CoB but plan to get to CoA and CoG soon, the only reason I'm reading these though is because I've heard it's best to read TMI before you go on, and I've also heard that TMI was originally a trilogy so you don't really need to go on. But yeah, CoB was trash. I disliked all of the characters, the plot itself was kinda lacking, and it was just so long and boring. But, because I want to read all of the books that make people fangirl over CC, I'm trudging on. But yeah would not recommend TMI
