Best of luck in 2021! Let's hope we all have less time to read and more time for socializing next year :)

Playing together on line is next to impossible, and I don't like recording all the parts of a piece myself. It's just not fun!

Thanks! I love the festive fireworks!
Read the first book of 2021 : Slake's Limbo by Felice Holman. I read it for work, I was looking for a good easy novel taking place in NY, to give to my pupils to read. This one fell short in my opinion, the writing felt stilted to me, even if the premice of the story was interesting.
Second book of the year : The Sixteen Trees of the Somme by Lars Mytting. Excellent novel, recommended to everybody!
Third book, Croatoan by José Carlos Somoza. Not recommended. I found it weird and kind of boring...Edit : this is actually the 4th book of 2021.
Fourth and fifth books, both "classics" and well worth reading : - Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose
- Claude Gueux by Victor Hugo
Edit : those are books 5 and 6!
I forgot my 3rd books, a YA novel I read for work, a retelling of the Great Flood story (from the Bible, but without Noah and with more frogs and a nasty turtle) : La Prophetie Des Grenouilles by Jacques-Rémy Girerd.

I'm hoping for a better year than 2020 was, but not book-wise : I was stuck at home for more than 2 months in march-april-may 2020, and I read a lot during this period. So, I know I won't read as many books in 2021, and I'm completely fine with it.
My goal is to read 24 books : 2 books a month. I'l try for 7 000 pages too. I'm particpatig in the "Turn the Pages" challenge (msg #50).
I'll also try to read 12 books I already own (for the TBR challenge), but I'm not going to participate in multiple challenge Iike I did last year. Anyway, I ended up giving up on most of them, so, I'll try to restrain myself this year.
