This thread is to discuss Dead Until Dark, the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris.

I'm so excited! I'm planning on this being my first read for 2021 as well!!!

I started today and I’m through the first 2 chapters! I’m like the story so far, but the chapters are so long. I usually enjoy reading books with shorter chapters over ones with longer chapters.

This really has nothing to do with the plot of the story, it was just something that really annoyed me in Chapter 10 (view spoiler)[ Sookie is sitting at the bar drinking with her brother when Bill comes in. Her inner monologue says how drunk she is and that she can’t think straight. A couple paragraphs later she’s getting into her car and driving somewhere to talk with Bill. I just hate how books and movies always seem to make it okay for drunk humans to drive their cars? Please don’t make this seem okay. Sorry, end rant. (hide spoiler)]
