For those who nominated Origin Stories for one of the challenges, you might be interested in two books I've read recently: Salt Fish Girl (which I read for the Shapeshifter challenge) and The Perfect Nine: The Epic of Gĩkũyũ and Mũmbi (which was recently longlisted for this year's International Booker Prize.
For my two free spots I'm focussing on djinn and labyrinths. With each, I will read one non-fiction and (at least) one fiction. In djinn, I'm really looking forward to The Hidden Palace and A Master of Djinn which are released in the UK in the next few months.
Salt Fish Girl has been on my TBR for a long time. Some day I'll read it!
I read about 100-200 pages of both The Hidden Palace and A Master of Djinn and then had to put them down to read other books for work! I plan to continue them on audio once they're released.
For my free spots, I'm focusing on Ghosts/Spirits and Forest Lore. For Ghosts/Spirits, I've read The Diviners, The Witness for the Dead, and Black Water Sister. For Forest Lore, I've read For the Wolf. All excellent books.

Do we have ghosts on this challenge?
I would have used The Mystery of Grace forbthis which I read in January.
This book also fits a lot of the categories; ghosts, witch, portals to other worlds

No! I'm using Ghosts as a theme for one of my two free spots.
