Thanks! I can't wait to introduce you to Paul the Phoenix and Calida the Thunderbird. They're two of my most favorite characters. Hopefully I'll be able to introduce them soon. =D

So I finally started. Only 418 words in though, lol XDHere's a snippet:
There were spies in the trees. Beautiful spies clad in bright red, blue, gold, green, and sometimes even pitch-black feathers. The spies didn't hide, rather they sang songs in crystal-clear voices that could lull a baby to sleep. They passed notes of their songs for miles back and forth to one another; private conversations of the mortals and secret plots of kings. Even impending danger was sung in a cheerful song.

They are the birds. XD I thought it would be cool to explore what the main character thinks about the birds as she can understand their language as she is a thunderbird sifter.
Aww, thank you! Your support means a lot to me! =D

"Daughter of the Phoenix":
When your freedom becomes your prison...
There was something so freeing with changing bare skin into feathers, something thrilling. Calida Songbird, born as a thunderbird sifter, wanted nothing more than to feel that feeling forever. The feeling of soaring high in the skies of Lymcup, singing songs of joy with the other birds.
Captured by creature hunters and imprisoned in a cage of silver, she is unable to change back to her elf form. Sold for a profit overseas in the lands of Bolckaty, Calida begins to lose the art of sifting altogether.
In a desperate attempt to reverse the damage done, she searches for a fae to bless her. Falling in love with a human boy who only sees her as the thunderbird she is.
The prelude and bridge to the "Eye of the Panther" blog serial and "Daughter of a Dragon, Son of a Sword" standalone novel.
I probably will not work on it until February or later though ;)
