So I reread this recently (a few months ago). I probably won't reread this again. But I will participate in the discussions!
I finally started rereading it this morning! It's been awhile. This is slightly unrelated, but have any of you heard the Lightning Thief musical? I got to see it the year before last and it was amazing.
i've heard of it, but i don't really have an interesting in listening to it or seeing it for that matter. i've heard enough about it that i know i won't enjoy it...
Compared to the movies, it's a way better adaptation, and a lot more accurate. If you're not into theatre, though, I probably don't recommend it, since it's, well, a musical.
My time to rant about something that I love has come...! If you're not interested, feel free to ignore me, because I don't wanna be annoying. So, "The Day I Got Expelled" pretty much covers the intro/first chapter. The whole soundtrack is on youtube and spotify, but if you don't want to listen to the whole thing, I'd probably recommend the Campfire Song, Killer Quest, and Drive. I think "Try" from the bonus tracks is probably my favorite. It took me awhile to get used to musicals in general, but now that I've given it a chance, it's one of my favorites. There are lots of funny moments and book references, from the blue food to the dam snackbar to "you drool in your sleep"--basically everything the movies forgot. They keep a lot of the characters, too.
The army is about subordination and leadership. A young soldier must be able and know basic skills. Leadership is not a basic skill that can be developed. I recommend reading an article https://london-post.co.uk/fundamental... on this topic. The army is an ecosystem of young people who fulfill their roles. It can be a patriotic or a leadership role. We shouldn't focus on shortcomings.

I'm sorry, but what has that to do with this book? This topic was made for us to discuss a book and I'm not sure where your comment is coming from
