January New Releases

I have a few new releases I'm interested in for January.

I am definitely reading The Wife Upstairs and Prodigal Son this month. I am hoping to read Across the Green Grass Fields this month as well. I want to read Winterkeep, but I'm not sure when I'll get to it.

I'm interested in The Children's Blizzard and I have An Accusation from Kindle First.

As always, there are a few more that looked interesting to me as I scrolled through the list, but these are the ones that had already caught my attention and made it onto my TBR. I'm sure I'll add others later.

I'm most excited for A Vow So Bold and Deadly


I was surprised to see Winterkeep


I loved this series way back when, but when an author revisits it's not always a good thing. I will probably try it out with cautious optimism?

Yes, I was wondering if I will need to reread the previous books. It's been a while.

Yeah, that's another thought that's been running through my head; to reread or not.

I already read The Wife Upstairs and I really liked it! I couldn't put it down.

I am looking forward to Before She Disappeared. This is one of my go-to authors and so I will pre-order this one.

On of my goals is to read more mystery books, so The Wife Upstairs looks interesting. Is this a retelling of Jane Eyre?
I'm really interested in , but am a bit hesitant because this is fiction book and I have read the nonfiction book by David Laskin and it was phenomenal.

was my BOTM choice for January. It looks like a fun read.

I've seen people mention that, but I never read Jane Eyre so I can't compare the two. The MC is named Jane and retellings is a main page genre, so I'm guessing it is.

I didn't read Jane Eyre either so I have no clue either.

February New Releases

This seems to be a good month for me. I didn't even really go through the list. All of these books are already on my TBR.

I have already read The Survivors. I have enjoyed everything I have read by Jane Harper, so grabbed an early copy.

I am currently reading The Unwilling. I'm not loving it as much as the earlier reviewers did. This is the first book I've read by John Hart. I am also reading A Caller's Game by J.D. Barker. This one is not on the list, but publishes Feb 22nd.

I want to read The Things We Leave Unfinished. I'm not much of a romance reader, but I read Great and Precious Things by Rebecca Yarros and really enjoyed it, so now I want to read this one too.

I have a copy of The Four Winds that I really want to read. I also have The Shadow Box and Hadley & Grace from Kindle First.

I still want to read The Paris Library and My Dark Vanessa, which were published last year. I also want to read Dear Emmie Blue, which was published last year. I already picked up a copy of this one.

March New Releases

I really want to read Every Last Fear. I am also interested in Bridge of Souls. It's a kid's series, but I really enjoyed the first two.

I'm currently reading The Rose Code. I love Kate Quinn's writing.

I got Infinite through Kindle First. I may read that some day. I'm not sure where I heard of Raft of Stars, but it is on my maybe read list. I am also interested in Wild Women and the Blues and may read Sunflower Sisters. I really enjoyed Lilac Girls, but I haven't read book 2 yet and Sunflower Sisters is book 3. There are actually a few that I'd be interested in, but they aren't at the top of my TBR, at least not yet.

I have already read We Begin at the End. It was the first book I read by Chris Whitaker and it was excellent. I read Heartbreak Bay. It was really good and sadly will be the last book that Rachel Caine writes for the series, as she passed away last year.

I have 2 must read this month:

My GR friends have rated this one anywhere from 1 to 5 stars, so of course I requested my library get a copy. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. (My TBR definitely isn't obnoxious enough. lol)

I've finished two of the three and liked Too Good to Be True better than What's Mine and Yours, But they are both great reads.

I have so far read only two books that were released in 2021, and I am currently reading one as well. I know, I need to read more :)

2021 releases I have already read (as of 3/26/2021):

April New Releases

Let me just start by saying that I really don't like the new presentation of new releases. Too bulky. I can't see which one I already marked as want to read easily (white on white, hum hum, what's wront with these designers, no disrespect), when it will be released AND no indication of whether or not a book is part of a series and if so which installment it is. Anyways that's me venting!

So new releases I want to read are Second First Impressions (I really loved The Hating Game from the same author), Mother May I, The Last Night in London

Maybes: Sooley & The Light of Days: The Untold Story of Women Resistance Fighters in Hitler's Ghettos

Savanes - They just ran a beta test and that is very similar to the new book pages too. I think they are planning to update the whole site soon. I have to admit that I'm not a fan of clicking "load more books" repeatedly. Just show me the whole list already.

There are usually a lot of books I want to read that publish in March, April, and May. This April is no exception.

NetGalley has been good to me with April releases. I have already read The Good Sister. I thought it was really good. I am looking forward to starting Mother May I tomorrow and then The Drowning Kind is up next. I also have The Perfect Daughter to read this month.

I chose A Deadly Influence as my Kindle First book this month. As usual, I have no idea when I'll get to it, but I'm not likely to pass up a free book.

I really want to read Just Get Home. I am also interested in You Love Me and Lies We Bury. I have The Secret Stealers and The Last Bookshop in London on my maybe read list.

There are a few others that have not made it onto my TBR (yet) that also look interesting, but I think this is more than enough for now. lol

well I'm not a big fan of this change... ::sigh::
I forgot to mention Jonathan Stroud's New book. I think it's called The outlaws scarlett and Browne. I'm on the app so I can't link to the book but I'm oh so excited about this one... I loved loved loved lockwood and Co.

I'm reading The Drowning Kind now, Elsa. It's interesting, but very strange.

May New Releases

There are SO many on my 'maybe read' list that I can't even list them all. I am definitely going to read Seven Perfect Things (didn't see it on the list) and The Newcomer. I'm starting them both over the next week.

I got The Watcher Girl through Kindle First.

I also really want to read The Invisible Husband of Frick Island. Luck of the Titanic and Find You First look really interesting to me. Also, The Last Thing He Told Me and The Woman with the Blue Star... and here I go. lol Ok, those are my top reads for May new releases.

I have a few too this month:
- Thrillers & mysteries: The Pact (I really like another book from this author), The Last Thing He Told Me and You Will Remember Me

- Historical Fiction: The Last Night in London, Hour of the Witch & The Mirror & the Light (this new release reminds me that I need to try this series).

- Other: Sooley, Project Hail Mary, People We Meet on Vacation & The Soulmate Equation

June New Releases

I am currently reading Malibu Rising. Next up I have planned Waiting to Begin and The Maidens.

My Kindle First choice for the month was Beneath Devil's Bridge.

I also have The Personal Librarian, The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot and The Girl Who Was Taken on my TBR.

I have a few on my maybe list as well. A couple of them look really interesting, but haven't made it onto my actual TBR because they are WWII stories and I don't seem to be picking those up right now. They may be added later, but for now I'm taking a bit of a break from war stories.

Looking forward to The Maidens, Ace of Spades and The Road Trip this month!

July New Releases

I only have a few this month and no must-reads: The Girl Behind the Wall, When You Are Mine: A Novel & Six Crimson Cranes.

As usual, I have more than a few I want to read from this month.

I've been wanting to read The Final Girl Support Group. I had the first hold on it from my library, so I have it now. I'm hoping I will have time to read it before it goes back. I am a bit overwhelmed with books at the moment and not having much time.

I've just read The Therapist and thought it was good. I also just finished The Forest of Vanishing Stars and thought it was excellent. I'm becoming a big fan of Kristin Harmel's writing.

I have We Are All the Same in the Dark on my TBR. I'm also interested in The Second Life of Mirielle West.

I have The Hollows, Choose Me and The Mixtape on my maybe read list. Yoga Pant Nation looks fun, but hasn't made it onto my TBR yet. My library has the first two in the series, so I may check it out at some point.

I just saw Cold Hearted on the list and hadn't seen it before, but it looks good too.

Thank you for these book suggestions! I have requested some at my local library, though most they do not have🙄. Can’t wait to plunge in!

August New Releases

I am currently reading We Are the Brennans and The Noise. I just finished Dark Roads and already read A Million Things when it originally published in March.

I plan to read As Good As Dead, but need to read the second book in the series first. I am looking forward to Billy Summers and will likely read it in August along with The Family Plot. I want to read Gone for Good soon too.

I have A Familiar Sight through Kindle First.

I am interested in The Second Mrs. Astor. I also have some interest in Yours Cheerfully. I received a widget for this one, but didn't accept it (yet) because I have not read Dear Mrs Bird, so I'm not really sure if I'll end up reading this one. Honestly, I probably would not have paid it any attention if the publisher had not contacted me, but it does sound good. The Real Valkyrie: The Hidden History of Viking Warrior Women looks interesting too. This list is the first time I've seen it.

As usual, there were few others that caught my attention and looked interesting, but there are more interesting books published every month than I could ever possibly read.

September New Releases

As always there are a few I want to read.

I have already read Antoni: Let's Do Dinner, but I didn't see it in the list so maybe they changed the publication date.

I am currently reading The Last House on Needless Street and The Orphan Witch.

I have The Santa Suit from NetGalley. I also have Over the Falls from NetGalley and Paper Doll Lina from Kindle First, which I didn't see in the list.

I want to read Under the Whispering Door, Apples Never Fall, The Night She Disappeared, and most likely The Man Who Died Twice, though I still need to read The Thursday Murder Club first.

I can't decide about Harlem Shuffle. I haven't read anything by Colson Whitehead yet, but I was offered a pre-publication copy. The only problem is that I don't think I'll have enough time to read it before it publishes. Steelstriker is also a maybe for me. I haven't read the first book, Skyhunter, yet, but I enjoyed the Legend series by this author and it is just planned as a duology so I may give it a try. Goodreads is sending me a copy of The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina which look interesting, so hopefully I'll get to that one.

Quite a few for me this month:
