Have you read Clark's previous book, Immoral Code? How do you feel about contemporary science fiction, as it differs from futuristic science fiction? What are you expecting from Half Life?

I have not read Immortal Code, but I have it on my TBR list. I prefer contemporary science fiction to futuristic science fiction. I also prefer "soft" science fiction, such as psychology or sociology, to "hard" science fiction, such as astronomy or physics. I enjoyed reading this blog post, which explained the difference between "hard" and "soft" science fiction in more detail. I was pleasantly surprised to see the keyword "psychology" appear in many reviews I skimmed about Half Life, which makes me more interested in reading the book.
