I have not read Immortal Code, but I have it on my TBR list. I prefer contemporary science fiction to futuristic science fiction. I also prefer "soft" science fiction, such as psychology or sociology, to "hard" science fiction, such as astronomy or physics. I enjoyed reading this blog post, which explained the difference between "hard" and "soft" science fiction in more detail. I was pleasantly surprised to see the keyword "psychology" appear in many reviews I skimmed about Half Life, which makes me more interested in reading the book.

Clark's sophomore novel, Half Life is a speculative science fiction about cloning while delving into societal pressures teenagers face. Imagine all the things you could get done with your own clone!
Have you read Clark's previous book, Immoral Code? How do you feel about contemporary science fiction, as it differs from futuristic science fiction? What are you expecting from Half Life?
