The Hunger Games discussion

This is an enormous room where the Tributes start out. Grand, majestic, imposing.
The room is all white marble and gold filigree, and the weapons are scattered around the room, compiled mostly in the center.

You see essentially no supplies, but what there is...isn’t exactly weapons. It’s a spill of...stuff. They’re all miscellaneous nobility things, like ladies’ fans and playing cards. Closer to the center are champagne glasses, porcelain teapots and teacups and dice, plus a few random candle holders. In the center is a majestic dais, but instead of a throne is the stuff that might actually do something useful - aristocratic canes, gilded candelabra, and playing dart sets.

Kayne sprinted here and into the inner circle. He grabbed a cane and some playing darts.

Amarissa threw herself into the cornucopia, eyeing the supplies. You're resourceful. Figure something out. She grabbed a cane, reaching out for the playing darts and a candelabra. Perfect for letting things burn.

"Where we going?" Kayne asked Amarissa as he also took a candelabra. They shouldn't stay there for too much longer.

"We're waiting here, at least for now," Amarissa replied, leaning against the wall.

Almana ran in, snatching one of the canes. It was heavy enough to be a useful weapon, and she started running out with it in her hand. The boy from District Two tried to tackle her from the side, and she ducked and swung her cane at his head. There was a loud crack as she ran away, leaving him dead on the floor.

Apollo decided to come to the Cornucopia and he decided to risk entering the middle ring. He grabbed a teapot and a candle holder, then seemed to be frozen in place for a moment.

Amarissa's black eyes found their way to Apollo. First target. She sprinted over to him and pinned him down in one fluid motion with the tip of her cane.

Kayne saw the girl from District 11 running toward the cornucopia and quickly swung the cane at her stomach, knocking her off her feet. Then he slit her throat with a playing dart, leaving her bleeding out on the floor. There was a cannon shot and she was dead.

Apollo dropped his things, the teapot smashing into pieces on the ground. He looked up at Amarissa, fear suddenly in his eyes. "Please, no," he begged. It was pathetic, but he was scared to die and scared to leave his mother behind, even if he knew he'd be seeing her soon.

Andy ran into the cornucopia, picking up one of the lady's fans on her way in. She sprinted towards her allies, before the girl from district five tackled her to the floor. Andy reached out and snatched up a champagne flute, crushing the upper part of it in her hand and throwing the broken glass in the girl's eyes, before stabbing the now-sharp handle piece in her throat. The girl made a gurgling noise and fell to the floor, while Andy stood up and brushed herself off. Her hand was bleeding from the glass, but she didn't seem too fazed other than that.

"You didn't have a chance anyway," Amarissa replied icily. Without another word, she stabbed the cane downwards with such precise placing that it was impossible to avoid. It was also one of the weakness points of the human body. With enough pressure, the boy would be dead in seconds.

Apollo gasped and tried to push the cane away but couldn't. "P-please," he wheezed as the corners of his vision began to darken. "Pl..." His eyes rolled back in his head as his breathing stopped. He made a few pathetic choking sounds before falling still. A cannon shot rang out for his death.

Kayne waved Andy over. "Oi, Andy, get over here!" he called out.

Amarissa wiped the blood off her cane. She used the blade of one of her darts to slice the sides of her dress so she could walk easier, putting the darts and candelabra in the folds of the gown. "It's fancy," she remarked, enjoying the elegance and sheer beauty.

"Four down," Kayne corrected. "District 11 girl, District 5 girl, District 2 boy, District 12 boy."

Gabby dashed into the outer rings of the cornucopia. there were dice, and a fan near her, but the playing cards were a bit further away. She wouldn't risk it. Grabbing the dice and the fan, she bolted from the ring.

Peter had stridden to the middle circle and grabbed a cane, wary of the other careers but knowing they wouldn't kill him. Yet.

Andy noticed Peter grabbing one of the canes and brandished her piece of glass. It would work like a knife, she supposed. A knife that could only stab and not slice, but a knife nonetheless. "Is he a friend of yours?" She asked her allies casually.

Kiera peeked inside the cornucopia. The Careers seemed to have gathered around the middle, and she might be able to grab something without them noticing. She stepped inside slowly, but slipped on a pool of blood and fell to the ground, knocking over a teapot with a loud clang.

Peter whirled around and saw a girl who had fallen in a pool of blood. Grabbing a dart, he started stalking towards her.

Kiera panicked and grabbed one of the teapot shards, flinging it towards Peter like a knife. She scrambled backward, trying to get away, but bumped into one of the other Careers. Amarissa.

Peter felt the shard tear through the fabric of his shirt but not do any damage. Thank God for ruffles. He had reached the girl. She looked so terrified. He raised the cane, aiming to bring it down on the girl's chest and kill her.

“He’s not a friend,” Amarissa replied casually Andy, turning to the girl who had bumped into her. She set her cane down on the ground, taking out the glass champagne flute from the folds of her dress. Smashing it on the ground, she picked up the largest and sharpest shard. Looking at the girl, she decided to end her quickly, not in a particularly sadistic mood. She pinned Keira down, and stabbed her straight in the chest without a second thought.

((Welp, this is possibly the bloodiest bloodbath I've been a part of, all the other ones people are like "I dOn'T wAnT mY pErSoN tO dIe YeT" like of course not but it's the hunger games so suck it up I didn't want Apollo to die but I thought it was probably unreasonable for me to have 3 unharmed characters after the bloodbath as well as just not very likely that he'd be able to go into the Cornucopia with all the Careers there and not get hurt/die sooo also it was just stressful to have 3 characters :3))

Kiera, well, Kiera died. There wasn't really much else she could do in that situation.

Andy shrugged. "Alright then." She said, sounding somehow... bored? She started walking towards Peter, twirling her glass around in her hand.

Kayne watched in interest, a small smirk on his face. He rather liked watching his opponents die. It meant he was that much closer to victory.

Peter turned and held the bloody cane in front of him.
"How many tributes are dead?" He asked.

"Five. Six if you don't get out of here, darling." Andy darted towards him, feinting to the right before swiping her glass piece at his left ankle.

Kayne snorted at this. "Although considering who you're up against, you'll be lucky if she lets you leave," he added.

Amarissa wiped the blood off her shard of glass, returning it to the folds of her dress. Two kills. She gave Peter a cold smile, eyes glittering. "True, true," she said, an amused look crossing her face. "I'd advise you leave now. Although, it would be my pleasure to end you now."

Peter held his cane at the ready.
"We all want to survive, darling," he told her coldly. "I wouldn't be surprised if your blood hit the floor first."

Amarissa laughed, although it wasn't full of warmth. "I have no intention to survive. Not till the very end, at least." It's to destroy. Get revenge. "You can certainly try to kill me now - go ahead, nothing's stopping you." She didn't pull out any weapons, knowing she could take him down with her bare hands if she tried, but she could easily whip out one at the last second if need be.

"I'm pretty sure you just confirmed that your own blood is gonna be hitting the floor," Kayne said with a smirk. He looked rather amused. "The only question is, who's gonna kill him?"

"Let's give the pretty boy a chance to get away, shall we? If he decides to attack, six tributes will be gone during the bloodbath," Amarissa replied, amusement still written across her features. Her black eyes fixed themselves right on Peter, as if she could see right through him. The streaks of red in her eyes danced, sparking slightly
