So far, the first book, isn't too bad. It is a little slow for my liking and Hay itch is a jerk, but otherwise its good.

Hay itch? Haymitch? Not trying to be rude but it’s kinda funny.

Sofia | 3 comments I think that there are a lot of very subtle details in the Hunger Games books no one is talking about.

1. Katniss is a plant. I don't remember in what book but Katniss mentions that her dad used to say "If you find yourself you will never be hungry". and like THAT'S AWESOME. At the same time I believe he literally means the plant, I think he also mean finding herself (as in personality or something like that)

2. (almost) Every name has a meaning. So many of the Hunger Games names have a meaning. Panem is some language I forgot means bread, it is a reference to "bread and circus". which is a reference to ancient roman times where they would give bread to people while they were in the coliseum watching people die (sounds familiar?) there are many more examples of this throughout the books

I think these are very nice little details about the books that I haven't seen many people talk about. This is just me being nerdy :)
