Amelia whimpered. She was too tired to do anything. “Can you help me?”
The woman left, closing the door bank door her.

Amelia does her best to help him help her. When her boots, coat, and pack are off, she curls up on the bed, not caring that she’s still fully dressed. She yawns and falls asleep.
Amelia smiled lightly and went to him. She shook his shoulder gently, “Sethen, wake up. Go to bed.”
“You don’t. You need to sleep,” she walked him over to the bed. “I’m going to go find out where the food is in this place, and when I get back you better be asleep.”
Amelia frowned, “it’s okay,” she stroked his hair, “they’re just dreams. This is real,” even though his nightmares were memories just like hers were.
Amelia watched him, “should we go now?” She hated bugging him while he was working, it she nodded a distraction.
She got out of bed and got her gun too. “I found the cafeteria, I’ll show you where it is.” She was hungry anyways, “and I wanna find he doctor too.”
She nodded, leading him the direction she had gone last night, “should we start with boy names?”
“I want to hear your list,” she grinned, excited to hear that he’d been putting thought into their baby.
She nodded, “just uncomfortable in my own skin. And tired.” Walking wasn’t an activity for pregnant women.
Amelia ate slowly. She observed the people around her, non of which seemed to even care that they were there.
She slowly stood. She wasn’t even too big yet, but she was already struggling with her Centre of gravity being different.
Amelia knocked lightly on the open door.
A woman wearing scrubs looked over and smiled, “hello, you must be the couple that arrived last night. I was told you’d be coming by.”

The doctor ignored him and ushered Amelia over to the examination bed.
Amelia laid down and the doctors asked her a few questions to determine how far along she was. The doctor then rolled her portable ultrasound machine over.

Amelia took his hand and held it.
The doctor lifted Amelia’s shirt, exposing her stomach, and applied some jell. She then used a small device and pressed it against Amelia’s stomach. An image appeared on the screen.

The doctor pointed to the screen, “there’s your baby. Did you want to know the gender? I can see if we can make it out.”
Amelia grinned and looked at him with watery eyes. Knowing the gender felt so much more real to her.
