February is a debut book of a famous author. That could be very interesting!

It looks like her first novel was Where Passion Leads, so that wouldn't work.Christina wrote: "Will “Someone to Watch Over Me” from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas work?"
I am going to read The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende. I have meant to read it for years and bought an e-book copy a while back.I am really having a problem getting into this book right now. I am changing to Amy and Isabelle by Elizabeth Strout.
Was able to find a Debut Novel list on GoodReads...and a book I found and was able to borrow is The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff.
That sounds like a great choice, Rebekah!Rebekah wrote: "I'm reading The Innocents Abroad, debut novel of Mark Twain."
I'm glad that you were able to fine one, Christina!Christina wrote: "Was able to find a Debut Novel list on GoodReads...and a book I found and was able to borrow is The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff."
I'm going to read Sense and Sensibility! I've considered myself a Jane Austen fan for a while but I haven't actually read anything of hers aside from Pride and Prejudice. Whoops!
I'm sure that it will be a treat, Olivia!Olivia wrote: "I'm going to read Sense and Sensibility! I've considered myself a Jane Austen fan for a while but I haven't actually read anything of hers aside from Pride and Prejudice. Whoops!"
Jane Eyre is one of my favorite books, Brynn. I named my daughter Brontë after Charlotte Brontë.Brynn wrote: "I'm going to read Jane Eyre. I've actually never read so I think it's about time."
I'm finally going to read Jane Eyre; I own multiple film versions and a really lovely edition of the novel, but I've never gotten around to reading it--until now!
I hope that you love it as much as I do, Katherine!Katherine wrote: "

was going to read witch's business by Diana Wynne Jones but then found out that wasn't actually her debut novel and her real debut novel cost almost $1,000 on Amazon. change of plans
John, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I just wanted to let you know that Delia Owens and her ex-husband wrote some non-fictions books before she wrote this. Cry of the Kalahari was the first one.John wrote: "I'm reading Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens."
Bummer!Sara wrote: "was going to read witch's business by Diana Wynne Jones but then found out that wasn't actually get debut novel and get real debut novel cost almost $1,000 on Amazon. change of plans"
Really enjoyed Jane Eyre!! The day I finished it I went home and rewatched the 2011 film adaptation and thought they did a great job as well!

I really like the 2011 version of Jane Eyre but my favorite version is the 4 part mini series with Tobey Stephens from 2006.
I will have to watch the movie!Katherine wrote: "Really enjoyed Jane Eyre!! The day I finished it I went home and rewatched the 2011 film adaptation and thought they did a great job as well!"
I'm not sure if I have seen this version.Rebekah wrote: "I really like the 2011 version of Jane Eyre but my favorite version is the 4 part mini series with Tobey Stephens from 2006."
Changed my mind on the book for this month. So now I am reading The Thomas Berryman Number by James Patterson. His Women’s Murder Club series is one of my favorites ever. So here we go with three days left!
Just finished James Patterson’s debut book and I struggled to get through it. Did not like it at all. But I finished it! On to March!
I missed that Kelly (that is why you are the librarian). Bummer too, cause Where the Crawdads Sing was great. I did read Imbolo Mbue's book Behold the Dreamers this month. I think that is her first book.

Where the Crawdads is wonderful! I have read it and listened to the audiobook. How was Behold the Dreamers?John wrote: "I missed that Kelly (that is why you are the librarian). Sara wrote: "I'm reading the emperor's candlesticks by baroness orkzy"I read a knock-off printing of this book but the story itself was pretty fun, almost slapstick much of the time.

Kelly, I really enjoyed Behold the Dreamers. The characters were very well written and it brought out quite a few topics like immigration/economics/poverty/gender roles/abuse/honesty etc. I felt like I could relate to the characters and was sad to be at the end of the book. I will definitely be looking at future books by this author.
