#ClassicsCommunity 2021 Reading Challenge discussion

Hi guys, I'm going to be reading Anne of Green Gables in the first week of February (1st-7th) and I figured I would create this topic incase anybody wanted to join in.

I have created a reading schedule but obviously you can read at your own pace, I just like to plan my reading ahead of time.

1st February- Chapters 1-6
2nd February- Chapters 7-12
3rd February- Chapters 13-16
4th February- Chapters 17-21
5th February- Chapters 22-28
6th February- Chapters 29-32
7th February- Chapters 33-38

I'm hoping people join in and have fun reading Anne.

I’m currently am listening to it on audio. I have the hard copy in my Amazon basket so I will join in on the read. I never read these books as a kid so this has been interesting getting to know Ann with a E through adult eyes.

I can keep up with that reading schedule :)

I would love to join in. I have never read any of the Anne of Green Gables series, but have been wanting to for a long time. :)

I'm joining too, I've watched some of the Netflix series and all I can say is that I absolutely loved it.

I might join but I have several other books I am desperate to read soon. When are you thinking of discussing it?

I was thinking about rereading the first two books in the series before moving on to the third only today! So this came just in time :D

I absolutely adored the ones I've read so far! I'm not sure how successful I'll be at keeping up with the schedule, considering that I have Adam Bede to contend with as well. But I'll try my best :D

Hi guys, welcome to the first day of the Anne of Green Gables buddy read, technically day two for me now.

I've just finished reading todays section and I have to say that I absolutly adored it. The first chapter felt like a bit of a slog to get through but I think that was because it wasn't entirely relevent to the story line, it was more used to explain why Anne ends up living at Green Gables.

As for Anne, I have truly never read a more endearing character.I can 100% see why people wouldn't enjoy her as a main character but for me personally she is so perfect. The way she looks upon life and the simple things within it was so charming. I also really enjoyed Matthew as a character and I feel like Marilla is going to grow on me.

I am so excited to see how this story progresses.

I'm going to do my best to keep up with the readings. This is one of my absolute favorite books and not just because I was born and raised in Prince Edward Island (living in another province now). I have lost count of how many times I have reread this so another reread will be wonderful. :)

I am going to try and keep up with your reading schedule, it seems reasonable. I agree that the first chapter seemed a bit slow to read but I liked how it introduced the characters. I am really liking the story so far.

I loved how much Anne speaks and how imaginative she is. The way she describes the world around her was so positive and amazing. She seems to be a very resilient and friendly little girl.

I am looking forward to reading more today :)
