Greetings all,
I would like to have this discussion, something I've been thinking over for a long time. Was Harry Potter and the Cursed Child a success?
Things that I would want you all to comment upon are -
1. Was the script form of book good?
- My opinion - No, the previous versions were better and easier to read.
2. Was her collaboration a right decision?
- My opinion - No, her own ideas and everything was much better in the previous books.
3. Were movies better or these stage plays in only particular parts of the world?
- My opinion - The movies were way better as they felt more real, and people from anywhere in the world could watch it from their homes.
Let me know your opinions.
Thanks and Regards

Honestly I didnt like the book at all. It sorta ruind the og characters for me and the whole traveling back and forth in time just made it confusing and left a lot of plot holes. To be honest it seemed more like a fanfiction than an actual canon book. It wasnt all bad tho I really enjoyed Scorpious character and it was cool that Harry had a slytherin son. I deffinetly agree with you that her previous books were much better, I love theater but I havent seen the play , the movies were great tho.

I agree with Alisha. When I was reading, I used to have the constant feeling that I was reading a fanfiction. I think it's so lazy stories with time travel.
They lost a great opportunity to make a good story about Harry and Draco child's.

No. It was horrible. I hated it. It's honestly a disgrace to all the Harry Potter Fans out there. No wonder I didn't even finish the whole book. Like no. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone. 🤢🤮 Its disgraceful. If JK Rowling did the book, I would have been done the book years ago.
As a Harry Potter fan, I read the book. Before I read it, I really thought it would be great. Unfortunately, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I think this book destroyed the characters I loved, like Ron and Harry.
Read the book, thought it was decent. However, I refuse to see it as canon. The Cursed Child is just sth playing in the same universe, but not with the (og) characters we know and love, more like a parallel universe
For me, this books doesn't make part of the universe's HP. I have yo read thia like a book totally different
Personally, I think the other 7 books are so much better. It was really hard to follow and, in my opinion, should have been made a real book first.
Most of the things that happen in it are laughable, one example being when Cedric's head blows up and he becomes a deatheater from the embarrassment, and secondly whatever happened to Ginny's character
I was so confused by the book and hated it! So much of the behavior is out of character, like Harry being a terrible father. It felt like bad fanfiction to me. Maybe it was good as a play, but I don't think they should have marketed it as a book at all.
personally, i didn't think it was that bad.
I read this entirely assuming it was a fan-fiction of some sort. It was the most non-sense purchase I ever made and I hate myself for it

Don't hate yourself, doubt the author whom we trusted and waited for 19 years and she gave us THIS ...more

Um livro que nunca deveria ter existido. Não se enquadra com os restantes livros da franquia.
I did not like it, the plot was very poorly thought out and the characters not like themselves at all, I'm not a fan of Ron being turned into a sort of incompetent wizard (points his wand towards himself!) who runs a joke shop and mostly just tells jokes to lighten the atmosphere, I also did not really like the relationship between Harry and Albus, it's like I don't recognize Harry anymore. The time-turner stuff was also very hazy and not at all like in the PoA witch might have been fine if they didn't just come up with a hasty 'new time-turner' finish. Scorpius is one of the better characters in this book, I liked him. I didn't watch the movies or the play so I don't know how they were. I didn't mind the script format but it would have been nice to see some internal monologue. Bellatrix and Tom Riddle was just... not pleasant... and Bellatrix's pregnancy just didn't go with how she was portrayed in the Malfoy Manor scene in Deathly Hallows. The way Snape was portrayed was also not consistent with the books and was kind of exaggerated his new 'tragic hero thing'. Scorpius and Albus' friendship was kind of nice but I didn't really like Albus. This is purely just my opinion. I think I rambled a bit but I just did not like this book, in comparison to the rest of the Harry Potter series, this is just...it shouldn't be cannon.
