The main character is a girl in high school (upperclassman I think) and she plays lacrosse. She ends up getting this boyfriend (I think his name started with a Z?) who's really kind and sweet but then she tries to break up with him and he becomes super possessive and tries to kill her. I read this about 4-5 years ago.
