Hello wonderful people!

I’m not sure if this is the right place for this topic, however I’m looking for a specific book I’ve read years ago.

It’s about a french detective, the action is set in Paris and all I remember is a lady with hairy armpits washing the sweat off her body (she had a bowl filled with water, rather than taking a shower).

It’s an old and short/medium length book, probably 300 pages max.

Please let me know if you can think of any book, which matches this info even slightly x

Don't know about the hairy woman but I'm just starting The Corpse in the Waxworks by John Dickson Carr set In Paris and has a French detective first published in 1932
