My Hero Academia (semi-advanced) discussion

Okay so I'm going to be completely honest. I've only been able to watch like three episodes of MHA, so I don't know everything. I mean I know all the characters but not everything. I've been trying to watch it, but I don't ever have the time.
But thank you for inviting me.
I'll try to watch it more soon.

I mean, that's fine. All it means is that you'll likely not be able to claim a cannon until you've watched enough of it

but, as long as you have a basic understanding of the world's structure, then it's whatever. Even if you didn't, I can find something explaining it.

I can also help with anything once you decide to do characters.
I'd say, since I've been in the mha fandom for a long time and it's one of the ones I'm most involved in, I'm a bit stricter when it comes to things like quirks. (But, it just means they need to be properly balanced. otherwise, I don't care too much.)

if you can't tell from the rules, they were basically made from my past experience with this fandom, especially the mineta part. I love mineta, so I can't stand when people go out of their way to make him out like that or when they make him so unrealistic - (considering how he acts in cannon i mean)

but I'm pretty sure when I made this, I was thinking about having a certain group of kids in the school that has a secret 'club' or 'gatherings' where they do hero work despite not having their license. the teachers wouldn't know about it or anything, and it'd be a close-knit group (like, they find out people's quirks and the reasons why they want to be a hero before inviting them to join them.)
so, if you know sircutieyuki, it's a lot like the hero origins project she participated in. At least, with that aspect.

this is kind of a remake of a group I had in 2018-2019 so sorry if it sucks lolol

No, I agree that the show never talks about sexuality, but that’s just it. It doesn’t say anyone’s gay, and it doesn’t say anybody is straight. Which means that we don’t know if Horikoshi made anybody straight or lgbtq (Except for the trans characters) I just think that it shouldn’t be heteronormative. Of course, no disrespect meant at all, I respect you both very much

i meant like, characters that are obviously straight, like deku, mineta, and kaminari. I should probably change that (I've seen people make mineta homosexual is all).

Most animes usually stick to hetero characters, and honestly, for me at least, all the characters in MHA seem pretty straight. Like. Kirishima and Bakugou are close and I think they'd be cute together, but I can't imagine either of them actually swinging that way

with characters like tsuyu and stuff though, I guess it could be pretty hard to see where they swing? Most of the cast just seems pretty hetero to me

and yknow, I didn't make that rule because I want ships to go my way or anything like that. I actually like majority gay ships in mha over heteroships because I like their dynamics.

it just, yknow, doesn't make any sense for someone like deku to be into guys when they show very clearly which way he swings, which is usually shown around people like mei (pretty shallow, but like, big boobs lolol)

I agree with characters like Deku, I just think that the ones where we really don’t know, we should be able to represent what we think their sexualities are. I do agree with your points though!

Wait but how is Kaminari for that matter. Dude’s first words to Shinsou were basically that he looks hot. I do agree that most of the time he’s simping over women though

For Kaminari, I'd say it's mainly because of how he acts. He admitted shinsou was hot, but he didn't really seem attracted to him in any way, just admitting he would be a catch. Same with mineta saying that eri was going to grow up to be beautiful, he didn't mean it in a pervy way or even seem even the slightest bit attracted to her, as opposed to Kaminari's scenes with Mineta where they are basically 'females- hot- i want them'

A guy can admit another guy is hot without being attracted to them in any way. And yknow, for the most part, you just have to watch how they say it and how they act

yeah, like, I wouldn't mind if he's like, bisexual or something because it depends on how you perceive that situation, but he's definitely into girls so he wouldn't be like, homosexual or anything. ( I kind of see it in the same light as how mineta would complain and be like 'your hot, you don't understand,' he's admitting they're hot but mineta definitely has no attraction to males. )

For example, I as a monoma main, headcannon monoma as graysexual and biromantic (with a VERY strong female lean. it'd be rare for him to be into a guy) when I portray him. but, as there is nothing to properly indicate him as a gay, I'm not going to make him homosexual.

same thing for other characters. If they are shown to be attracted to a certain gender, don't throw that out of the window and be like 'no, they are this.' for example, Momo has shown attraction to men and so has Ochako, same for Deku with the opposite sex. They aren't going to be homosexual. I can see maybe Momo as bi, but I can't imagine deku or ochako being anything but heterosexual as they have shown absolutely no attraction towards those of the same sex.

I'm trans, I'm greysexual, and I'm panromantic. Nothing about me says 'i'm straight', so obviously have no problem with homosexual people or anything like that. it just doesn't make sense for some If not most the cast

If they're proven to like a gender, I won't say that they don't. There are some who might be but most of them are not homosexual

Yeah, that's mainly my point. I've seen people do some unbelievable things, hence the rule. I just went about wording it wrong and didn't think too much about it as I wrote it

Guys, when claiming a character of a cannon character, can you state your standing on siblings? (Like, if you want them to be the only child, you WANT them to have a sibling or two, or you are okay with them having a sibling or two), that way others know.

I, in particular, don't care if Asuna has siblings. He was technically artificially created and probably would have come into lives pretty late and be like 'yeah, here I am'. He's technically not a 'child' of Hawks and was technically more adopted than anything, as hawks did not knock some chick up to have him

I'm thinking about adding Amber in and then she being my last character, for now at least? I only have commissions for both her and Asuna so

I wouldn't allow more than three children for the characters so dw about that lolol
