Is the "Currently Reading" shelf for books that we are reading as a group, or just what individuals are currently reading? Because I am surprised to see so few books listed there. Does everyone just buy books, but not read them here??? I doubt it, so let's see what everyone is reading right now

Linda, it was never really stated what that shelf would be used for in this group. I just figured if anyone wanted to put the book they were currently reading on there to share with the rest of us, that was fine with me. This group isn't really one where a group read would come up, I would think. Anyone want to throw in their two cents is perfectly welcome to.
Oh, whenever I join a group I always add my current read just to say 'hey guys look what I am reading'. Unless it is a BOM type group and that shelf is designated for the group read. So...yeah =D.
I like seeing what other people are reading, in case someone is reading something I have considered and want to inquire about, or someone is reading something at the same time and we can discuss it.But I get that this is not a book discussion group - I belong to other groups that, do that so that's okay!
I am trying to read DEADTOWN by Nancy Holzner at the moment. I am finding it very hard to get into - am only in Chapter 3. I have now started having a second current read (which I never do) just to help me along.
I'm currently reading two books, Weird Florida, just like it says, weird things in Florida and Night of the Loving Dead by Casey Daniels, a mystery type story about a women who talks to ghosts.
I am currently reading Horns by Joe Hill and will soon be reading The Help or one of several Margaret Atwood books in my to be read pile. I decide on the next read when I walk over to the bookcase to pick up a new book.
I just finished Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. Really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of the True Blood series so I thought it was about time I read the books! I'm now reading
by Judi Fennell
I am currently juggling 3 books and all VERY good-Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
The Dead & the Gone by Susan Beth Pfeffer
Acceleration by Graham McNamee

YES! In fact right after I finished Murder on the Orient Express, I started Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I finished that yesterday and LOVED it! What other ones do you think are good? Those are the only 2 Agatha Christies I've read so far.
I heard The A.B.C. Mysteries is good as well? What do you recommend? (=
Amy, I definately suggest The A.B.C. Murders. I'm not a big fan of Mrs. Marple, I prefer Poirot, but another mystery that is neither of them that was a great Christie is And Then There Were None.
I just finished

and really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next book to come out at the end of the month. I'm now reading
Bluemoon wrote: "reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova and The Sister Grimm by Michael Buckley. Both books are great so far ^_^"The Historian is one my favorite books. I absolutely love Elizabeth Kostova's style of writing. I hope you continue to enjoy your books!
I finished
by Katie MacAlister. I thought it was much better than the first book. I'm a little over half way through
by Valerie Stivers. Cute paranormal vampire story, its a short quick read. Very Chick-litish.
Bluemoon wrote: "Still reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova and going to start reading the Beekeeper's Apprentice at the sometime. Can't read the former at night...get too scared...^_^ hehehehe..."How are you liking The Historian? I know it has its slow moments, but some really creepy ones too. I looked for my copy since reading your post, but I can't find that and my copy of The Count of Monte Cristo. I think they got lost during my move. Being that they are two of my favorites, I'll have to buy them again this weekend (of course!).
Bluemoon wrote: "are you sure you lost your copy of the Historian *wink* *wink* or maybe someone just doesn't want you to continue your search for the truth (dun dun dun) ...hahahaha....sorry I'm sleep deprived.Y..."
LMAO!!! I can remember reading one of the scarier parts, and my phone ringing at 2am. I was so scared I almost jumped out of my skin! Even if I never re-read it, I MUST have a copy in my collection.

Oh dear, that's what I'm scared of as well! I've only read five of her books so far, so I still have a ways to go but sooner or later they will run out! O= But so far I am devouring them. Which ones did you like best?
I love getting ideas from this group! I'm almost done with
& midway through
. I JUST finished a tough but informative read
.
I finished
, it was good for the first book in a series, looking forward to continuing the series. I just started
this morning
Bluemoon wrote: "Still reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova and going to start reading the Beekeeper's Apprentice at the sometime. Currently following online:Naruto through Ch. 486
Bleach through Ch. 396
07-Ghost through Ch. 21
Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) through Ch. 38
I can't wait for them to come out in America!!! I just finished Flight of the Renshai by Mickey Zucker Reichert (excellent, just like the previous series) and Kieli: White Wake on the Sand (super excellent!). Just deciding what I should get next, haven't seen a lot of new fantasy that I want to read so I've mostly been sticking with manga, although Fang just came out so I might go pick that up...I really like Maximum Ride.
Amazon delivered today WOLF HALL by Hilary Mantel and THE SECRETS OF GLASS by Donna Russo Morin. Currently I am reading THE KITCHEN HOUSE by Kathleen Grissom. I have a problem now .... which book do I begin reading. I also have THE SCARLET LION by Elizabeth Chadwick and THE FRENCH MISTRESS by Susan Holloway Scott. It tough being a grown-up and making such big decisions.
I'm reading Long Walk to Freedom: The Autobiography of Nelson Mandela. I'm about 200 pages from finishing. It's been a slower read for me then most books are. But it's wonderfully written!
