The book for May 2021 is Find Layla: A Novel by Meg Elison.

Following the underprivileged and self-aware titular character, Finding Layla is a coming-of-age story that delves into mental health. This short novel promises to pack an emotional punch!

What do you think of this month's book?

Christine | 142 comments I have mixed thoughts about reading this novel. I generally enjoy coming-of-age stories, particularly when they focus on mental health. However, the description of Layla's house in the Goodreads description is off-putting to me. I hope that the description of Layla's house as a biome is not a major focal point of this short novel.

Kristen | 166 comments I got this book for free on Amazon with prime membership. And since I have it, that means it'll be approximately three years before I bother to read it. Library books always take precedent, and I'm terrible when it comes to book self-control.
