Just like songs, which keep playing in the back of mind when we aren't actually listening to them, there are some books which leave such an impact on you that your mind keeps returning to it.

Have you read such books, which have left an impact on your mind, books about which your mind keeps thinking and keeps returning to?
Share them here and let us know how and why you keep returning to them!

bookishcarli | 4 comments Well ofc all Riordanverse, and a really underrated book that I think about all the time is Eliza and Her Monsters. It's my favorite standalone, (yes, it's even better than TFIOS and Heartless and Fangirl and Cinderella is Dead and Sorcery of Thorns) and it has amazing writing, plot, characters....just amazing everything and it lives in my mind rent free (the only realistic fiction book that does) and i never have anyone to talk to about it because either yall havent read it or you read it and just forgot about it but please go read it right now.

I checked it out and I really liked the blurb so I have added it to my TBR but the cover!! It's so good, so descriptive of the story that will unravel in the book but looking at the cover I felt that it's a sneak inside the book.

I obsess over it and can't stop thinking about it and I even have dreams about it. It's not even that amazing of a series... it's just addicting

Austin George | 471 comments It's usually books that I liked during my school days that I keep thinking of like Chromosome 6 by Robin Cook, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton etc to name a few. I plan to reread all those books as I hardly the story anymore. All I remember is that those books mesmerised me at the time I read them.

Austin George | 471 comments *hardly remember

message 18: by Anna (new)

Anna It's definitely 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley and '1984' by George Orwell. Episodes from these books keep popping in my mind all the time due to the dystopian world we live in.
As for my "happy place books" (the ones I like replaying in my mind before sleeping), it's 'Shadow and Bone' series, because I just want to live there!!!!

message 20: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 471 comments That's interesting Bhavya. My childhood favourites are in your list :-)

message 21: by B (new)

B | 463 comments oh no, I meant I made a list of all the books everyone recommended! :)

message 22: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 471 comments Oh, it's alright. I was very surprised at first because not many have even heard of books like Chromosome 6 let alone read them. Though Rebecca and Jurassic Park were more well known during their heydays.

message 23: by B (new)

B | 463 comments I will definitely read them soon! :)
