the march 2021 book is: you asked for perfect by laura silverman!
for those of y’all who haven’t read the book yet and don’t own it, ik that libraries are a tricky situation rn, so i recommend checking out libby, a digital library app that’s easy to use and has a lot of books available regularly! this isn’t a no-pirating zone, per se, but please remember that for books that do not have problematic authors, we want to support them, not just read their books.
regardless, i hope you’ll be able to join us for this book of the month! :D

i just finished this one and i’m actually pleasantly surprised??? i definitely thought the romance was a bit insta-lovey, which is my main critique. i also didn’t like the way the ending was handled? but it was cute and definitely really good anxiety rep. plus the pacing was really good imo
Yeah I agree! The instalove was a little iffy but I don’t think it was overly dramatic either so it didn’t bother me that much. The school anxiety was incredibly relatable and I honestly just wanted to give Ariel a hug the entire time. Kinda ironic that I read this while also trying to desperately get my grade up so part of it was the timing that impacted my enjoyment of this (in a positive way. I think????) would definitley recommend, was very sweet and enjoyable
absolutely!!! honestly i don’t think the romance added or took away too much from the story, so it wasn’t a Big Thing for me, but it was a little annoying since i could have gotten behind a slow burn thing way more. i could’ve gone from not really caring to finding it an interesting part of the story, yk? either way, definitely a good book and one that is very important in the mental health aspect.
Yeah I definitely get that!!! It could have been developed more and been more intriguing but it was also a short book so I see why it wasn’t a super slowburn
Same! Sorry i’m a little late to reply to this. His anxiety about school hit a little close to home, and i overall rlly enjoyed the book
it’s all chill!! yeah, his anxiety was definitely really well represented, and overall definitely a cute & good book
!!!!!!! i finally read this!!!! yay me! i swear it never once left my loans shelf. i just kept renewing it. oops. but i finally read it!! also i really liked it! it was a fun time. it actually wasnt. i was so stressed for ariel (and everyone else sjkdzgh) and its summer break kjsdhzkjahga
