Age of Swords question

Is no character safe anymore? I would assume that anyone reading this would've read the book. So you have been kinda warned. So I will widen my question, now that this is the second book, are we going to be expecting more characters to die? I had to reread Mina's death over and over hoping to change the outcome. Poor Suri!
