I haven't created that many group posts yet, but maybe my answer will still help:
To integrate books and / or the author into your post, you can use the function under edit> add book / author (above the actual text field). Also you will find a little support there for formatting with HTML code.
If you want to work with widgets (https://www.goodreads.com/user/edit?t...), your question may have already been answered here: https://help.goodreads.com/s/question...
I hope you'll find what you need.

I emailed tech support and they told me to ho to My Books and just enter the info, but I c..."I think you are referring to the Goodreads yearly challenge. Any books that you tag as 'read' that have a read date for this year should automatically be added to your annual challenge. They need both of those to qualify (marked read & dated this year).
If you're on the book page, there is a green tab under the book that says 'want to read' with a little down arrow to the right of it. If you hover or click on that, it will give you the option of clicking 'read'.
Once you click 'read', it should bring you to the book review page. When you are in the book review page, below where you enter your review there is a part for 'dates read'. You need to make sure there is a date entered and it is for the current year. Once you've done that it should automatically post to your challenge.
That sounds pretty awful, Phoenix. Not a book you need to fore your way through. Yikes. The next one HAS to be better. lol
Way to go, Phoenix! We typically do these challenges every other month, but last year I added a bonus May challenge and some of us are doing it again this year. You can join it here if you'd like to: May challenge.
Humor-- Assassination VacationChildren's book --Amelia Bedelia... I have to confess I only read it to finish this off bc I don't usually read children's books.
Book set in a country I don't live in -- The Picture of Dorian Gray I live in US, this takes place in England.
Author with a name I love -- Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win by Jocko Willink Jocko is a SEAL and I think the name is so fitting for a SEAL.
Wild cover:
Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender, and Identity—and Why This Harms Everybody The rainbow glasses...I couldn't bring myself to read a book just for a cover so this is the wildest I have.MC is librarian -- The Giver of Stars, the women are packhorse librarians so I'm going to count this.
A character is a musician--The Family Upstairs : a MC's main vocation is playing on the street for money to feed her and her kids.
Way to go, Crystal! I saw your dedication there with the children's book. lol Hope it was at least a quick and fun read.
