Yeah! Here are some of my thoughts so far, feel free to share yours as well :)
1. I wonder what this "secret" that's hinted in the title is going to be? I'm guessing it has something to do with Ellery's missing aunt, idk why I think that but it's just a hunch lol
2. I'm also wondering how Mr. Bowman's death is going to tie into all this, bc there's no way it's a coincidence.
3. I like the characters so far, especially Malcolm, Ezra, and Mia. I understand why Ellery is so involved in the mystery, even before she gets targeted, but I'm still feeling a little meh about her. I guess she just hasn't done anything to make me think "wow what a great character" yet.

These were my thoughts (excuse the randomness lol) as soon as I finished reading:
really weird... decklan is acting fishy... somehow I think maybe all of Lacey's friends got together on her... maybe Decklan, Daisy, and the others ganged up together... idk where Ryan fits into this tho ... maybe he saw what happened or knows something about it... I mean he did become a cop right? so that means his detective skills are good...idk just random wild theories... I wonder whether anyone actually dies on homecoming - since there are three of them idk who will be targeted - or maybe all of them will?? idk??
I just got home so I didn't get to read it yet :(But I'll read right now and I'll wake up early tomorrow so we can talk about tomorrow's chapters :)

I like your theory that he witnessed it somehow, it would also explain why he broke down at her funeral more than anyone else.
As for Declan, I originally thought it couldn't be him because that would be too easy for a murder mystery, but I could see it being a group attack. If it were Declan AND Daisy, that would be a really interesting twist, so I like that theory too.
Ellery probably won't die because she's a pov character, but I could definitely see her being targeted in another way (attacked or kidnapped or something, maybe an attempted but failed murder?).
Also I'm amazed that the school is still keeping Homecoming on even though it's clear there's a murderer planning something on that date. Like at the very least they could change the date or postpone it until after the creep is caught.

Hi everyone! thank you all again for letting me join! :) I finished the 10chap. this morning but I didn't have the time to get on Goodreads till now!
so let me just tell you all I'm very picky with mysteries...like the book has to grab my attention from the beginning or else It will take me forever to read it...but so far I'm really enjoying this one! like from chapter 2 there is already drama and action!

sooo I know Declan seems like the obvious choice as the prime suspect but I don't think so...he is hiding something that might play a role in the crimes but I don't think he did it...
for now I have my eye on Ryan...like for me it's him that seems kind of off...and even Sadie as well! also I still find it off that the children calls their mom Sadie xD I tried today calling my mother by her first time. We both stared at each other and just burst out laughing!
so I'm curious to see who has an out for Ellery! but for sure it's related with the aunt! and I agree with you @Noor I do think it's a team effort...like I don't think it's one individual...maybe Katrin and/or Brooke
right now I'm big fans of Ellery, Malcolm, Ezra and Mia!

I see no one has mentioned Vance Puckett? He was only mentioned twice so far but I thought he was very sus.And when he said “Doesn’t seem like a great year to be homecoming queen, does it?” he became even mor suspicious
If he's Sadie's ex and they had a falling out maybe he tried to kill her but got confused and killed Sarah instead? But then idk why he would be targeting the other girls
It's really far off, but it's the first thing my mind thought of when Vance was introduced

I just finished chapter 20 and ..... DAISY AND DECLAN?
Yeah something is definitely up with Vance. I don't know if he's the killer but he's definitely suspicious. I kind of feel like he has something to do with Brooke's disappearance.
I definitely didn't see the Declan and Daisy twist. It definitely makes me wonder more about that theory that if they were involved with Lacey's death, it was both of them? But I agree with Hannah, I can't see Declan being solely responsible.
Also I'm definitely warming up to Ellery now. Idk why it took me so long to start liking her but I think I'm starting to get into it.

It's just really hard to make a connection between the disappearances. I mean, if they're all connected then it can't really be a personal thing and more of a homecoming queen thing...but why?
