How do you explain your love for reading to a non-reader who might be your friend or family or even a curious stranger?

Because it's my coping mechanism

Also I need some escapism from the real world

It allows me to experience the impossible. It makes me happier, and I have the ability to escape the world if I don't want to be in it. For me, it's an oppurtunity.

I think it's a good reason to read books..

Helps with my depression so I won't be 6th Feet in the ground and my family crying that I'm gone from the world soooo that's why I read. Its crazy how a book can make u go into another world..makes u laugh at a characters who doing dumb/saying things.

It's good to hear that you have found a healthy solution to depression and yeah, books automatically transfer us to another world and makes us forget our own problems, and that helps :)

I like the way words can make me feel, I can read something and feel joy and also sadness. I like to know how other people see the world. I like to enter in the fantasy world of others and it's a copping mechanism to escape the world.

because it makes me relax and i like it too its my hobby

I read because it's just a really good outlet for me to get away from the chaos that is my life. And fantasy is one of my favorite genres because it really is a whole different world I can escape to.
I also like it because it's fun! ♡

because it seems interesting to me and also I can learn to speak English too.
