What glitches do you commonly find on Goodreads?

➡️Share here and some might be able to offer some solutions, who knows admin might stumble here and rectify them?

The most common glitch which I encounter is "Goodreads is over capacity!" and it just happened again..!

Haha, the biggest glitches for me are the notifications and the over-capacity thing like you said.

The notifications will show up 15 minutes to an hour after the actual thing happened, and the over capacity thing happens to me quite often as well.

My Goodreads has a glitch where every once in a while I can't get rid of the notification that a discussion post is unread in a group. I'll read them all and it will always say "1 unread" for a specific topic. It's really annoying

Right now "Goodreads is over capacity!" and that 1 unread thing is happening for me.

I always thought when Amazon bought Goodreads that would lesson, but I find the website has more issues since. It's annoying!

Huh, it also hit me I've stopped getting group discussion emails.

And I'm still waiting on friend emails.

I turned off email notifications so I can't relate to that, but shoot, these glitches really suck. :(

Well it's good to know that the over capacity issue happens all over the world.

The glitch things I encounter are "Goodreads is over capacity!'', notification issues, and the 1 unread thing. :(
And sometimes the groups that I got an invite from, won't let me join. It says "the admins in this group don't approve of your membership".

Aaaah all of those happen to me too. :/

Well the amount of email I suddenly had to wade through from GR was madness. Apparently they're capacity thing also means account changes for email. That was an adventure! I got individual discussions for EVERY group. (I have a lot.) Plus digests. sighs

I get notifications 3 to 4 hours after they were sent sometimes! That's the notification that drives me nuts the most. Other than that its the over capacity thing but that's less annoying because it makes me do something else with my time.

Yes! The capacity thing is driving me crazy! I've been trying to add books to my shelves so that I can keep track of my purchases and it keeps crashing. So when I go and double check that I shelved it, the shelves are bare!

My notifications are super late. I just go to the groups and check unread topics. Doesn't help else where, but it's something.

I don't what's this capacity thing y'all are talking about. I have serious notification issues. Sometimes I receive them 7-8 hours later. Very irritating. Also some of the friends I added don't show up on the app's friend list but are visible in the website version. So I have like 700 something friends on the website version but only 617 show up on the app. Got an update for the app yesterday but even after updating not a thing has changed. It's so vexing.

The goodreads page doesn't load and it gives you a page with a girl and this message: "Goodreads is over capacity!"

The capacity thing only happens on the desktop version, I think that's because you don't have to sign out of the app.

The notifications are driving me up a wall. Getting a notifications 20h later after you've read the post and multiple people have posted after. They are not working on the app or desktop version.

Ah, okay. I'm always on my computer.

I just noticed even manually checking groups unread threads isn't helping. Maybe the conspiracies about Amazon trying to get rid of groups is true. O_o JK. I think they're trying a ton of beta stuff out and the site is just glitching.

Am I the only one, who can't see images in reviews in feed, but when I go to the book, I see them?

It's been a glitch for a while in the feeds. I think in my GR friend newletters too.

That's good to know that happens to everyone. Pictures never load on my feed, gifs will. I have to click on the review to see them.

I have the over capacity thing, and I get my notifications over a day and a half late.

Hey, have any of you guys tried out the beta for the books pages?

I like the general idea of the book cover being there all the time, but other than that nope. You can't comfortably add all the shelves that you want. It feels so much like the mobile app I hate it.

Yeah! Even I thought so and then after posting without any HTML, I figured the issue.

Yeah! Thought it was working for me, but I tried to broadcast another message in a group, and it didn't work. :/ And now I'm testing it and it's still not letting me post.

Darn it, no HTML means I am unable to reply to specific messages lol.

This glitch stresses me out so much that I will now do my homework instead 😂
