Game Of Thrones.... On Broadway

Personally done with AGoT and ASoIaF.A Broadway play? Why not? I don’t think he will be anymore involved with it, than he was with AGoT, but I think HBO will love it, and AGoT fans will, too.
GRRM has been working on WoW for a decade, as far as anyone without inside knowledge can tell. If WoW is what he’s still working on, and not the last book, then I don’t think those last 2 books will ever see the light of day.
GRRM has said somewhere that if he doesn’t finish ASoIaF, no one will. And I think TWoT series was what he referred to. (He did let HBO finish AGoT, so he may have changed his mind)
I’ll say if he never finishes the series it will be because he has no idea how to finish up the characters arcs. Like a character like Bran I can picture George having no idea what to do with him in the story. Hopefully I am wrong but as the years go by and he works on other projects the more I feel I’m on to something.
Who cares....... I read the first book in 1998. In all these years after, never cared enough to his true fans to finish the book.
But the Play is scheduled for 2023, so I guess he is pretty sure he will be done with Winds by then.

I just watched the show for the first time & am now reading the books (I’m only on the 2nd). When my boyfriend got me to watch the show I had no idea that the books were never finished and now I’m invested and hope he decides to truly finish them one day 😭
I’m on the second book now and it just feels like it’s dragging. Will Broadway follow the books as well or no? I personally don’t think a play is needed. HBO did an excellent job. PS: When do the books split off from the show? I’m trying to skip ahead in the second boom if I can because the pacing in it is AMAZINGLY slow.
If you feel the second book is dragging, then you are in for a treat... The pace of the following books is even slower. The books split from the show gradually, there is no single point. The first book is very close to the show (its first season actually), the second book has more differences, the third even more, etc.

The upcoming show will focus on an event in the history of Westeros that takes place prior to the events of both Martin's books and the popular HBO television series: the Great Tourney of Harrenhal.
Meanwhile, Winds Of Winter still remains without any timeline to be released as George is now involved with this project.
Thoughts on this broadway play? Good idea? Terrible idea? Will WOW ever come out or will it be taken on by another author ala The Wheel Of Time series.
