booklover024 | 19 comments - dog ears
- tons of blank pages in a book that r there for no reason
- movie covers
- "she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding"

Smiley C - The girl always thinking of the boy, who is sarcastic and trying too hard to be cool
- tiny font: they're horrible to readers' eyes, especially when you think of it, we literally spend days squinting at the tiny words :(
- In my old city when English is not people's first language, there are badly hand written translations scribbled everywhere in library books. Some are pencils and some are written in PEN! How awful.
- creepy book covers, or those one that zooms in someone's face, or those romance where shirtless people poses on the cover

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 382 comments -movie covers (most of the time I love my Legolas covers)
- changing the cover style or design halfway through the release!!! Or after the first book they changed it.
-insta love and poorly done love traingles
- the lead is only allowed to love or be interested in one guy/girl officially
- damaging books
-thriftstores over pricing books
-special snow flake leads, I want a real person
- changing from paperback releases to hardback

Ash (inkwordsandash) (inkwordsandash) | 107 comments -dog ears
-when the main character dies
-one dimensional characters
-typical 'good' protagonist 'bad' villain.
-inst-love (very rarely do I like it)
-in love triangles when the person I'm rooting for doesn't end up with the MC (this happens quite often xD)
-damaging books
-whiny & annoying protogonists
-'mean girl' vs protagonist
-over used tropes not executed well
etc...
Wow, that's a long list, lol.

Erica | 1309 comments When an author holds back information from the reader that the main character knows when the book is in first person.
The best example is the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. The main character is a mind reader that gets all the important information several chapters before the reader does, yet we have to read inane thoughts about what Sookie thinks about her body. There are ways authors can do this without it coming off as lazy writing.

When a main character meets another character, and they fall in love, and then turn from a super cool character, to a sucker.

Lol, I have not read Twilight, but yeah she's an example. I read a lot of underrated books, so I'm not sure if you've heard of these.

But some examples of what I mean are the Defy series by Sara B Larson and The Name of the Blade by Zoe Mariott.

But Twilight is a great example!

message 16: by Erica (new)

Erica | 1309 comments No I had not heard of those.

message 17: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cindytreads) | 8 comments I hate, haaaaate when a character is perceived as "good" and another as "bad and evil" but they do the same kind of stuff... like, make it make sense.

Also, changing the size of the books in the middle of the series is a big no.
