I just finished chapter 3

I'm annoyed at Elle for getting mad over other fandoms and Darien's general fans joining Starfield fandom...as according to her they weren't "true" fans.

But I remember feeling kinda same when SAB show was announced 😅

I'm already getting bored. Neither of the main characters is likable.
All they do is complain about their lives, that's it.

And this "true" fan thing... Can everyone just chill for a sec? Why are they getting so worked up over it?

I kinda like Darien. And Elle is a bit annoying but still okay.

It would be awesome if they give Starfield references a break. That's literally the only thing Elle's life revolves around. The ONLY thing.

But I guess this whole book is about them obsessing over Starfield. I don't mind it, but I don't really get it.
Like in Eliza and the Monsters it was actually explained how the fandom worked and stuff. And what was the story. But in this book it really isn't explained.

Yeah. I'm a bit confused too. There really isn't much context.
Also, in Eliza and her Monsters, there was A LOT more to the main characters than just their obsession with a fandom

Does it too have a "dark" atmosphere too?
I read the monsters of verity duology and it had a really dark atmosphere. (At least for me)

Yeah, it's quite dark.
Maybe even darker than Monsters of Verity as that one is still YA, while Vicious falls into NA/adult category.

I'm halfway through 9th chapter...

And Idk if it's just because I am way too obnoxious, but the way Elle just gave in to her stepmom's demand to repair the roof so easily without much protest...while I am sitting here cheering on her to make a rude, snarky comment and go back to sleep.

Like, this old lady just woke you up in the middle of the night to repair the roof as if you're her servant??? Especially after she told you she's gonna be selling your father's house??
