Steven J. (goodreadscomsmarto) | 4 comments Hello Goodreaders! Only fitting that on National Pets Day I have finished a children's short story about a family's experience with pets and their journey in finding the true meaning of the holidays. The story touches on some relevant challenges in today's society and hints at the joy that normally follows when we create positive change and care for other living things. Hope you can find some time to check it out on April 20th or pre-order kindle version today. A portion of proceeds will go to The NY Marine Rescue Center in Riverhead.Sir William's First Holiday Season

Steven J. (goodreadscomsmarto) | 4 comments Hi Everyone! The weekend is hear and it's a good time to think about some good new books coming out next week. I saw a Netflix special on Bill Gates last night and was not surprised to see that he has people pack him a stack of best selling books every time he travels. I'm guessing he will be reading books like A Series Of Fortunate Events, Think Again and the upcoming Sir William's First Holiday Season. Lookslike there are two days left on the giveaway! Wow! How time flies! Sir William's First Holiday Season

Take a time traveler adventure with young Albert Einstein.

a riveting fantasy about soul-searching and growth which will keep young adult readers engrossed to the end." —D. Donovan, Senior Reviewer, Midwest Book Review

In Einstein's Compass: A YA Time Traveler Adventure, a young Albert is gifted a supernatural compass that allows him to travel through time and space. He finds wisdom in other dimensions, like the lost city of Atlantis, but evil forces seek the power of the compass, including a monstrous, shape-shifting dragon from a different age.

Can the compass protect Albert from such villainy?

Jo Zaida | 3 comments Hello all,

My book is FREE until Thursday 24th June - as part of a special Kindle promotion.

It's a YA fantasy called Misfit: Book One of the Asura Chronicles, and is the first in a series set in a New World built on logic and strict Ministry control.

Written by a passionate feminist, you'll no doubt see certain themes start to emerge. But I also tried to keep it light and fun. There are strong, brave girls, and kind, gentle boys - but it will be as the series progresses that deeper issues get tackled.

https://www.amazon.com/Misfit-Book-On...

It would mean a lot to me if you could download it and let me know your thoughts, especially as I am shaping the second novel.

Thanks!!!
Jo Zaida

Abigail Brewer (liber_scientiam) | 2 comments Hey all! I see the latest comment is a wee bit old, but I recently just finished a (very) rough draft for the first few chapters of my new book and wanted to share it!
I don't really want to just post a link because it's not quite public, but if you're interested in checking it out, let me know!

Genre: Magical Realism
Word Count: Approx. 12k words (first 5 chapters)
Sneak Peak of the prologue;

What happens when you leave a baby alone in a room with a wild dog?
The baby dies. It gets eaten, or bitten and infected. But regardless of the process, the outcome is still the same. Death and bloodshed.
Humanity is much like that baby. Squabbling, stumbling over her own two feet, crying that they cannot do anything for themselves. In this situation, the wild dogs also represent humanity; always thwarting her efforts at success and posing a constant threat to itself.
Why, you ask, am I saying this? Because it is true. You listen to me and you hear my truth ringing in your hearts like the revelation it is. I also say this, because, in this situation, there is also a solution.
How do you calm and discipline an ungrateful and troublesome baby? How do you tame a wild dog so it is no longer a threat?
Easy; an adult. Someone who can take charge to ensure both the well-being of the baby and the dog. Someone to simultaneously discipline and babysit the infant, and to punish and tame the dog.
That is why I am here.
