This is the first of four threads meant to discuss in detail The Three Musketeers. It covers chapters 1-16.
No spoilers allowed!

Joshua Moravec (jmoravec) | 37 comments Finished this section today! So far I'm really enjoying it. I haven't had as much time this month to read as I normally do, but I will say that Dumas' (and Peaver's) writing is really fast paced, so it doesn't feel like I've spent much time reading 200 or so pages.

Seems like we've been introduced to all the major actors and they're getting into place for the main plot, so I'm excited to see what happens next.

I do agree with your opinion about Dumas' style and I also appreciate the benefits of a good translation (into Italian, but I'm curious to know about the Pevear's version you've written about).

I do enjoy the premises: it's going to be a great adventure, I'm sure. The characters descriptions are so vivid it seems to have known them for a long time!
