What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hey all! I don't need a recommendation but instead, I'm looking for a title of a book that I read about 13 years ago. It was a young adult/teen book with a plot line that featured a young woman whom was to become a governess (maid/nanny/or something of the sort), and she either dreamt of going to a realm of magic where she meets women like her. However, I think it was a meeting with women, all of which some kind of power or rather, just her. And they found an unearthly realm of magic? I'm going crazy trying to figure this out.

Thank you so much for helping! I actually found out the book in question, but rather than a governess, she was but a simple student! It's called A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray!

Or rather, the whole entire series! I think I wasn't remembering the first book, but just the second and third within the series.
