the selection ♔ | ♔ semi-advanced discussion
Princess Layla walked into the room. The walls towered high and the support posts were as grand as they always were. The large area was massive and she looked around trying to think of an idea.
((Umm... I mean the selected can roam anywhere inside the castle other than the restricted places so I mean, sure?))Princess Layla looked at the maids that were cleaning the balcony. "Can one of you put tables out for the selected to sit at?" she asked the maids. "Make them nice tables and add some good chairs. Not junky ones," she added.
((I'll agree with the random part, XD! And no problem!))Princess Layla stood tall as she watched maids carry in two large tables and began to put chairs around them. "Bring in two more for the royal families as well," she called as she began to go up to the balcony that the maids had just stopped cleaning to fulfill her request.
((I think that's fine!))Princess Layla stood and placed her hands on the railing. "Ugh! Somebody dust this!" she said rubbing her hands together to get the dust off her hands. A maid came up to her and gave her some thin white gloves that she took quickly and put them on.
Princess Layla smiled now wearing gloves. She watched as maids put chairs around four large and grand tables. "We need some plants in here," she said fanning the air around her.
Nathaniel had decided to explore the palace after he check out his room for the time being. He had never been in the palace himself, though a few of his relatives have. He'd already looked through the hallways, the dressing room, and multiple other places. The only places he has checked out were the Ballroom and the Gardens. And since he was already inside, he decided to just go to the Ballroom and then the Gardens.
Nate walked into the Ballroom wearing some black pants, a formal shirt, and some dress shoes. He had changed into something more causal after he met with the other male selected. He didn't speak to most of the guys, half because he didn't want to and half because he didn't speak a huge amount of English.
When he walked into the room, he say a bunch of people running around, getting tables and chairs set up. And when he glanced around the room, he saw who could only assume to be a princess.
Princess Layla looked down and saw somebody enter. "Who are you?" she asked as she walked over to the stairs and walked down to get down from the ballroom balcony. The maids were finishing putting the chairs out to the tables and returning to dusting the balcony.
Nathaniel's lips curled slightly and he bowed to the girl, "Nathaniel Emerson from Germany, it's a pleasure to meet you your Highness" He said rather formally. When he stood up slightly, he put out his hand for the girl to place her hand in. Even though he wasn't new to touching people or anything like that, he wasn't just going to touch a princess without her permission.
Princess Layla shook her head. "Why are you here in the ballroom?" she asked. She held her head high and didn't move at all.
"Why not Prinzessin?" Nate said with a smirk, "I believe we selected are..able to roam the palace?" He says with a slight pause to remember the last words in English. He let his ignored hand fall to his side as he stood straight, "Where would I be.. if I wasn't here? The Kitchens?"
"You could be anywhere in the castle as you wish. I'm just wondering why you chose the ballroom. It's a mess in here since the first grand dinner is tonight," she said. Her head stayed up as she watched the maids continue to dust. "I need someone to dust the chandeliers as well," she called to the maids then turned back to Nate. "There are so many places here and you chose the messiest one?" she asked him. Her logic was reasonable and she knew what but, she didn't know what the prince wanted with her. A fight or just to talk?
Nate shrugged and glanced at the maids cleaning with his nose wrinkled, he hated when highter Castes used lower ones as maids and servants. It felt wrong, "I've already looking around in a few places, I thought I'd...ex..plore the rest. I havent seen the Gardens yet or anything outside though. And what is wrong with mess?" He asks as he tilts his head. With a small smile he runs a hand through his hair, for people who actually tried to get to know him, they'd know it was a nervous habit of his.
Layla looked at him. "A mess is not a good thing around this castle," she informed him. "We prefer to keep everything clean around here," she added. She turned to look at the progress of the maids, "Didn't I ask for some nature?" she shouted at the maids. Three maids dropped their dusker and ran out of the room. She turned back around to face Nate.
((Sorry! I'm not that smart to check a profile, XD))
Nathaniel nodded his head and stayed silent for a few minutes, watching the maids work before he glanced back at the princess, "Clean can be nice but a mess always makes room for improvising" He said with another curl of his lip, "So, Prinzessin, what's it like being royalty? I, myself, am merely just a common person of my home country. So, if you wouldn't mind, could you tell me a bit of how it is like?" He asked.
((No problem! XD I sometimes don't check profiles either. I just roll with it))
Layla shook her head. "For me, I'm used for setting up events in stuff. Not much respect is shown towards me because I'm not the oldest of my siblings. If you want more info ask someone who is respected and treated better than me," she said to the boy. She turned and walked away as the maids came in with plants and began to place them around nicely.
((Prinzessin? Do you mean princess?))
"Ah alright, I did assume you where younger since it is you're sister's Selection I am apart of. Though I think planning and setting up for events is an interesting… and difficult job. I should know" Nate said as he left it at that as the princess walked away.
((Princzessin is German for Princess. Since Nathaniel is German I thought I'd use a few German words here and there. I'm sorry, I can fix it?))
((No, no. I just didn't understand what you meant. You don't have to fix it. I think it's a good idea actually.))
Princess Layla turned around. "Please, just go and enjoy yourself somewhere else. I need to focus so the ballroom is prepared for tonight," she said. She turned around again getting ready to head back up to the balcony in the ballroom.
Nathaniel nodded with a bow at the hips, "I'll find my way to the gardens. Enjoy yourself with preparing for tonight, I shall see you again later if you were to attend" He replied with a quick smile before turning towards the door and walking out.
((Oh good! Okay, thank you. I think I'll start putting translations at the end of my posts in the case that I use more words that aren't English))
Princess Layla sighted. "Ughh. . ." she muttered to herself. She went back to preparing the ballroom for the night's gathering.
Princess Layla turned and spotted her sister. "Ohh... Dad asked me to set up the ballroom for the dinner tonight. Mom wanted it in here so the prince and princess could roam around a bit more and meet the selected," she said. There were three large tables with clean white tablecloths set up. One of the tables had 21 seats, the second had 9 seats and the third had *number of royals that live in the palace* seats. The plants were still being set up by the maids and the balcony was still getting dusted.
Layla nodded. "Yeah, probably," she said. "I dought I'll be able to get this looking decent by 6:00," she said. "Can you get the maids to make down here look nice and I'll get the balcony?" she asked. She looked around at her progress. The only things on the tables were a few plants and the chairs weren't neatly placed around the table. The plants around the room on the floor also were a bit messy.
Layla headed up to the balcony. "The railings are still dusty," she called to the maids who were walking around.
Layla moved the furniture on the balcony so people could have room to walked around and stand holding the railing.
The maids continued to dust the railing carefully as Layla moved the furniture. "This is better. . ." she muttered. "I need some plants up here!" she called to her maids. A few of them dropped their dusters and rushed out.
Princess Layla walked over to her sister. "I'm going to check on the kitchens. I'll be back in a bit," she told her sister. When you set up dinner there has to be enough food- And cake when it comes to her brother.
Bella walks in here, her feet bare from when she ditched her shoes outside. She stops suddenly when she see the inside of it. It was breath taking. Her jaw drop as she looks around.
Princess Layla passed Bella as she walked out of the ballroom. Her heels clicked on the marble floor as she exited.
Bella turns with a silent gasp and drops into a deep curcy, her dress pooling around her. As soon as the princess left, she stands.
Bella backs up when the other princess looks at her. She curtcys again and stays like that, to afraid to do anything else
Princess Layla returned to the ballroom. "They have everything, Sophie," she told her sister. She walked over to her sister and looked at the chairs around the tables and the flower vases. "This is beautiful, sis," she told her sister. She hadn't noticed that Bella was in the ballroom yet.
Bella quickly pulls out her notebook and pulls a old pencil from her hair, causing it to come tumbling down and going past her shoulders, almost to her waist. She quickly write, "Is there anything i can do to help?" And walks over to show it to the princess
Sophie smiled, "Thanks!" She said. She looked over at Bella and back at Layla. "I don't think so." She told Bella quietly.

This is the best picture of the ballroom I could find. It is normally empty so, get rid of the tables and stuff usually.
