Our May 2021 book is Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi. This book was just announced as being on this year's shortlist.

Really looking forward to this, heard such universally positive comments

I really enjoyed this and found the characters very believable. The fact that it’s so science based out me off, as this isn’t an area I have any knowledge in, but it was so well explained and all linked together really well.

A woman who actually had a similar family and educational background to the main character joined us for this one in my real life book club. It was interesting to hear her perspective.
