With the Marigold ship free of her father, Fable and the rest of the crew were set to start over. That freedom is short-lived when Fable becomes a pawn in a notorious thug’s scheme. As Fable descends deeper into a world of betrayal and deception, she learns that the secrets her mother took to her grave are now putting the people Fable cares about in danger. It felt pretty short to me and felt like not as much happened as in the first one

Just more, it felt so short. More tension, higher stakes. It felt like all the problems that were presented were solved pretty quickly (hide spoiler)]

I did like listening to it just felt like it was another book that fell into the "second book syndrome" that I notice a lot in trilogies

Finished (view spoiler)[ This was so great, I really enjoyed it. Wish there was a bit more action and definitely a longer more intensive epilogue. I would have loved to see them 10, 20 years in the future but I'm still deliriously happy they can safely live their dreams out together and Fable may actually have a relationship with her father! Love this author, need more from her lol (hide spoiler)]
