Hey All --
I'm starting a new thread so we can suggest titles for the next year of reading. We will also plan a meeting for sometime in July where we can discuss them and finalize our selections. I'll send out a poll on dates soon for that. Thanks!

Did we discuss this author before? This has the added UB connection.

Lori (widz) | 56 comments The book by Mary Bush might be a good one. Maybe she could join us for a meeting.

Here are some books I enjoyed and might be good ones to discuss:

Historical Fiction
-- The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff
-- How Much of These Hills is Gold by Pam Zhang
-- Conjure Women by Afia Atakora
--The Orchardist by Amanda Coplin

Fiction:
The Glass Hotel by Emily St.John Mandel
The New Wilderness by Diane Cook

Susan Bartl | 8 comments I liked Mrs. Christie. I am currently reading an earlier Marie Benedict book, The Other Einstein. She always sucks me in.

Ellen | 226 comments Lori--You had shared a recommendation for Conjure Women earlier. So my other book club read it. We really liked it and had a good discussion about it.

Becky | 144 comments I had two suggestions, one I have read, the other want to read.
Want to read: Non-fiction - The Daughters of Kobani: A Story of Rebillion, Courage and Justice by Gayle Tzemach Lemmon. It's about the Kurdish Womens Protection Unit or YPJ.
Read - Fantasy: Cunning Devil by Chris Underwood. this is a 3 book series but the first book could stand alone. I found it very enjoyable and fast paced.

Ellen | 226 comments I just read The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie in response to our November book The Mystery of Mrs. Christie. This is the book she wrote after her mysterious disappearance in 1926.

I liked Roger Ackroyd and thought it held up well. It may be the first Poirot I read by her, though I have read some of her stand alones. There were of course small details that Poirot ferreted out and astonished everyone with and then a good twist at the end.

Then I watched Agatha Christie's Crooked House movie on Netflix from 2017 with Glenn Close. I really liked that too. It's a Christie end of year binge for me, while I struggle to get rid of my sinus infection :-)

Happy New Year to all!

Thanks, Ellen --
I'd been meaning to read Roger Ackroyd as well and your post reminded me to pick it up. I'll start my 2022 with it.
Happy New Year and hope you are feeling better!
